Rez, how good of an actor do you think Dechs is?
Because he's either one hell of a thespian and scum player, or he's a townie who's struggling with a helluva lot of frustration. Scum get mad, but they don't try to kill themselves just so they can say "I told you so". And scum are almost never smart enough or creative to fake that exact reaction under pressure. It's nearly always just an organic, natural response to frustration.
But whatever. All I'm doing this entire game now is providing a thousand different reasons for the same two essential conclusions, and seeing very little movement or engagement in response from most of the playerbase. It's all just white noise at this point.
People've been saying I'm inflexible, that I don't change my mind. I just don't change my mind until I have good reason to do so, like anybody else who believes strongly in something they've thought through for
themselves. But if the rest of this town has coherent, logical reasons for continuing to think Dechs is scum and GR is town, I'd love to hear them, but I haven't heard anything of the sort. And we STILL don't have hardly any movement on either front. We have emotion and gut and hunches and half a town full of lurkers- and that's it. And if that's all we have, we can have Stardust just roll the rest of our lynches at random to decide this game, because we're not playing mafia, here.
We need people to step it up, or we're done. Doesn't matter if the scum are caught dead to rights if we can't work as a team and communicate.
You want me to change my mind? Try to convince me. I'll listen. I may continue to disagree, but I'll at least have the conversation with you and keep trying to explain where I'm coming from.

where did your opinion of rn change? what's your current opinion of him?
You post on dtr? Cool? Honestly, I don't know who posts there and who doesn't.

Sure, it's mostly back on page 10, begins bottom of page 9.
Guys, I think I found the 2nd scum.
Officially reserving my "I-told-you-so" for when both GR and RN flip scum.
Walk us through the thought process of sorting out your ideas, then, what you're thinking about, the factors weighing on your mind. There's no reason it should take a wagon just to get you to speak up and volunteer what you'
re thinking about everyone.
Hell no! I'd throw that exact same argument out there as WIFOM and try to keep 50% of my team or more from getting destroyed on D1. Especially because if I'm right, and GR is scum, the next person on the chopping block after my credibility got that boost would be him.
I haven't fully decided on RN yet, but he's one of the people who haven't posted anything that makes me remotely inclined to clear him. And I certainly have no love for players who won't share their viewpoints without their arms being twisted off, though if it's habitual for him, that's somewhat less damaging.
I'm good if you guys back off Rednihilist
for now. I think he's town.
*snipped for conciseness*
Ok, let me go over the bits where RN is signalling his townie-ness to the world then.
*snipped for conciseness*
^ This with RN is one of the many examples you will see of me being totally wrong about someone, by the way. Try to admit it when that happens, though.

I'm starting to wonder if Ham is scum due to the number of anti-town actions he's taking plus his coordination with GR in the "Azrael is a ego-freak who should be ignored by everyone" campaign.
Have no idea how much of that inclination is just personal animus against him, or personal animus on his part against me. That's one of my biggest question marks, also Lord McD. I've got no firm reads there.
IDK how to take Rez yet either. I'm thinking he's moved slightly out of my prime suspect territory with his latest replies and more into the "I can't read this person yet" category with ham and lord McD, and maybe kpaca. Like, he's trying, his viewpoints seem self-consistent. He also seems to have more games than some of the other players though, which means I can't write him off as easily.

I wrote that a little confusingly - what I meant was that I'm not certain how much of my read on you will be colored by your negative interactions with me. So I'm trying to be cautious not to let that affect my judgment, but at the same time, there's a number of things that *could* be warning signs in your history. Not sure how to take them, yet.

idk if i would have lynched you or not dk...probably not, actually, because i didn't realize you were at L-2. i would have said G_R had the bigger wagon at the time. you really shouldn't self-vote tho if you are town. it's a super anti-town thing to do.
i'm not sure why i'm second guessing this G_R lynch since he has been a suspect of mine since the first stages of this game, but for some reason i am...we'll probably end up having to lynch him when we are up against this deadline.

Was this like the word of the day or something?Morons
Anyways, who should we lynch if not you, G_R? I think DK is out of the running for now.
It is still bothering me that az keeps saying things like "scum wouldn't do this" or "scum often do this." This sort of tell seems extremely weak and unreliable to me and definitely should not be used so frequently

Do you not like the tells, or do you not like the way in which I describe them being the same over and over again, and the way in which all the things I'm saying can'tWas this like the word of the day or something?Morons

be supported by any evidence that you can see other than taking me at my word?
I can certainly understand why people would be hesitant about taking my word for these phenomena, without having seen those trends for themselves. But other than suggesting you think it through for yourselves to see why those trends make sense, or referring you to articles from several years back written by various mafia people that share similar conclusions with articles written by yours truly, there's not much I can do to alleviate that.
I guess I could also suggest that you reach out to more experienced mafia players and ask them questions about mafia theory and mafia tells? That might give you guys a better sense whether or not I'm full of it.

What I'm trying to say in the first part, is that "scum often do this" or "scum seldom do this" is not a type of tell. That's a description of the quality of whatever tell that I'm describing, and what underpins how often the scum do or don't do something is their mindset, and their level of experience and ability.
Like, every and any tell is going to be described in those terms. There's nothing that scum ALWAYS do, or that scum NEVER do. There's always going to be some level of uncertainty. What tends to alleviate that uncertainty is when you see a consistent trend of tells that are in line with either one alignment, or with another.
