Does anyone else think Ojutai is somewhere between mediocre and unplayable?

It's a 7 mana sorcery in limited; it's extremely mediocre but playable.

New ojutai. 5/4 for 5 flyer. Heproof if it's untapped. When it deals damage draw a card.

I don't think it's good in standard, but people keep telling me it's the best dragonlord. Which is wrong. Cause that's Atarka. Cause she's amazing.

being able to tap out for ojutai and just let him be until you untap is very nice

he's also in colors that are getting a lot of new tools to test out

Mediocre maybe.
Good possibly.
Great unlikely.
Unplayable is unrelated to this card.

Also getting bad-impulse on damage != draw a card.

Double PPTQ weekend on dragons release weekend. Has anyone had any thoughts? I think I might stay on jeskai tempo (or maybe tokens), anticipate seems like it could be great in the deck.

Anyone have thoughts on a viable, flash-in-the-pan shell that can run Drown in Sorrow, HDF, Anger, Archfiend of Depravity and enchantment hate? I know that I'm going to be seeing GW Devotion, red-based aggro and Naya Walkers...Jund would be interesting but the mana seems too ridiculous.

Much of this is SB material...the question is whether there is an RBx shell that can run BB and RR as needed.

Perhaps a Mardu Control strategy? Early burn and sweepers, rely on things like Butcher, SBD, Elspeth, and Sorin to kill your opponent.

I don't think you want to go all in on an anti-GW deck. You'll just lose to big creature and control strategies.

No, not at all...sorry if I came across that way in my brevity. I think Drown is in a great place right now, and I'd rather be playing it that getting hit by it. Archfiend was a sideboard consideration that I want to take along for the 2nd day of Standard play (whole separate Swiss, not consecutive), but it's not the key. Black and red removal while maintaining access to Erase/Glare is where I'm trying to go. But maybe I'm just trying to ice skate up a hill...

Photo, I haven't seen any list that runs those cards together. I think that's just asking too much of your mana base. Being able to reliably cast Drown or Anger on turn 3 would require at least 19 sources of both [mana]b[/mana] and [mana]r[/mana]. It's just not possible. Now, if you don't need to cast Anger on turn 3, just go black heavy on your base and know that you won't be casting Anger until turn 5-6. At that point, you need to ask yourself if it's really worth it.

Just run Rbw with Anger as your 3-mana sweeper and Crux as a 2-of at 5 or something.
