Finally some relief. Just unloaded almost $400 worth of cards last night to pay for my mistakes from the past two weeks. Now to sell about $1000 more and I'll be good.
I'm on the opposite game plan - need a few hundred worth of MTG cards and just dropped $150 on some paintball stuff (which is nothing in the grand scheme of things)... it's sad that M:tG is - by far - my least expensive hobby.

my plan against them is to side out spears for cracks. Now that they've dropped Silverblade paladin from their lists, the only thing I can spear is their face or their dorks. Skullcrack is better for the former and I have pillar (or even elecktrickery) for the latter.

good to hear it SM.

Report is up!. It's weird playing without Searing Spears, but it wasn't all that bad.

I didn't know you played paintball. I also play. Only thing is, there hasn't been any open paintball fields in my area for over a year now. That should be changing soon. A local pro that plays on San Francisco Explicit has opened up a facility about 5 miles from where I live. So far, they have airsoft, laser tag, and Nerf. They are working on the permits for paintball. I have kept all of my equipment this whole time in hopes that I'd be able to play again. Have a mech Azodin Kaos and very nice ICD
Promaster, HPA tank, V-Force Grillz goggles, and a Viewloader Vlocity Jr hopper. Can't wait to actually use it again.

Yeah, I figured you were "in the know" when I saw you refer someone on Sally to MCB.

So what's your poison? Speedball, woods, scenario, everything?

Anything. I'll take it where and when I can get it. Most of the play around here was speedball, although one of the places that closed down had an awesome urban combat arena. I used to be really into making my marker look like a real rifle, but I got away from that when I realized I wasn't adding any performance, only weight, to my marker. I had a BT that looked like a silenced SMG, but it weighed 10 pounds! That gets really heavy after you carry it around all day. My current markers are as light as I can get them without machining material off.

I know what you mean - down here in the SE, the vast majority of guns you see are Tippmanns with about 15lbs/$900 worth of extra junk on them that shoot exactly like they did 15lbs/$900 ago.

last time I played paintball it was raining and I got caked in mud, was a blast though.

Cept for the part where I turned and this girl was running up to me, she said "surrender" (or whatever the word for it was), and I could've just shot her...but I didn't.

Too much of a softie

Anyone read Memory of Light yet?

I decided I was going to reread the whold series before I picked it up, but then I got to Crossroads of Twilight and lost the will to ever read anything again...
A Memory of Light was very good. Aside from two things, the book was excellent. I'm a fan.

@Khaos:

[deck]4 Champion of the Parish
4 Experiment One
4 Boros Elite
4 Burning-Tree Emissary
4 Lightning Mauler
4 Mayor of Avabruck
4 Flinthoof Boar
3 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
1 Silverblade Paladin
4 Frontline Medic
3 Ghor-Clan Rampager

4 Cavern of Souls
4 Temple Garden
4 Sacred Foundry
4 Stomping Grouns
2 Clifftop Retreat
2 Sunpetal Grove
1 Rootbound Crag

Sideboard:

3 Fiend Hunter
12 Island[/deck]

RE Skullcrack: It
makes sense in the 20 land decks where your searing spears are going to the face 90% of the times and against Sphinx's decks where searing spear isn't worth a card more then half the time.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Beatdown is hard, though.

I think -1 Island +1 Hodor would improve that deck's postboard matchup against Slumbering Dragon aggro.

I usually just shoot someone if they try and surrender me unless they've got me dead-to-rights because a lot of times people seem to think that if they can see you and yell "surrender" then you're under some sort of obligation to walk off the field.

I've actually had someone charge a bunker I was in to get pissed because I didn't call myself out when he tried to surrender me. This guy was completely exposed and couldn't shoot straight because he's
running while I was 90% covered and pointing my gun right at him, but I was the one that was suppose to walk off the field.

:eyebrow:

Personally, I hate surrender rules - if I'm close enough that a shot will hurt them, I'll just aim for a target like their pod pack and shoot that because not only do some people get it in their heads that a surrender is mandatory, but I've seen people turn and just unload on the guy surrendering them even if they get shot doing it. Instead of one guy taking one shot at close range, you've got two guys taking 10+ shots at close range - no thanks.

Pretty much the only time I'll try to surrender someone is if I run out of paint or air...

That guy is guilty of pet peeve #1: using "literally" incorrectly.

Points for the skilled use of MS Paint, however.

http://www.starcitygames.com/article/26 ... t-Win.html[/quote:2r8jl97m]

Much more intelligently written than most of their articles and reports.

The incorrect use of "literally" is one of the most annoying things people commonly do. Right behind that is using "literally" correctly but when it's unnecessary: "I literally went to bed at 9:00 last night." - thanks guy, I'd have thought that was some sort of metaphor if you hadn't specified...

Ya know after awesome report, that I say that any reports this week have to be in MS Paint and written with the flavor of your deck.

That report was fuckin awesome. How much are Hellriders right now? Maybe I need to give this a go. Think I need to stop dicking around and get back to my roots and get back to stomping people with their good stuff decks with some gold old fashion variant of RDW.

Also, going to see how far I can go with the Ham challenge, see if it doesn't turn me into a beast. Day 1 was last night but the lady friend came over so it wasn't exactly a struggle.

yeah I just don't know if I can dig strikers over maulers. I like Valas list that has both and the rancors (we could even sub out the rancors for spears if we want it to be streamlined.

Strikers are just fold against UWr flash, and Bant flash, basically any flash. I think this guy just got matched up against jund and naya and shit and was able to walk by them, but against a wider variety I think ash zealot is more solid.

Having 4 hellriders definitely feels nice though (with more land)

Also anybody see the new Megantic Sliver? Are they just making up words now? Megantic? Is that Mega and Gigantic?
If Megantic is a word, it's not the King's English.

But I saw it, and it made me dreadfully sad. Pourquoi? It's another in Naya colors, making the speculation that they're only releasing Slivers in Naya colors all the more plausible. I want a flying Sliver for :1mana: :symu: , dammit.

There's a Lake Megantic in Quebec, and there was an ocean liner named Megantic, so Wizards didn't make the word. It appears to be a word used for quite a few Canadian businesses.

I doubt that slivers would just be Naya colors as there are slivers in all colors and even a few colorless ones floating about.
