Nice sig Pendi, underrated anime

It's definitely one of the most unique things I've ever come across; I think it's underappreciated because of it's fandom.. which is basically a mix of angsty teenagers and generally much older folks who enjoy the enigmatic principles the story positively revels in (or vice versa, lol). What I find fascinating is how that dynamic actually had a hand in molding the anime itself: the manga that it's based off of is much different, much much bigger both in scope and length, and there was this constant fight between the writer and the
production studio for money to reproduce that in the anime.. which the writer lost pretty epically. He's seems bitter about it, but I'm kind of torn; I think having to cram the whole thing into 13 (.5) episodes works wonderfully, forced him to get rid of a bunch of the extraneous stuff that I didn't like about the manga (helicopters running off diclonius stem cell embryos, freelz!?), and creates a much cleaner, more focused story that can concentrate solely on making you shed womanly tears alone in your bedroom like a girl tugging on your emotions.
