we want you to do the study parsing job your editors used to do but only on journals and research from your single beat that doesn't have much activity on a day-to-day basis. just kidding we want you to do that for two different beats, both of which overlap a lot of other people's beats, so there's a pretty reasonable number of
available literature you'll just never get to it because they already have their mitts in it. actually? screw parsing through studies, now that you finally found some publications that update regularly with relevant data that may be of interest and that we can get good outside comment on, we don't want to do that any more. now we just want to be cnn, cold call doctors and ask them about cool stuff they're doing but instead of compiled and written data that would illustrate why what they're doing matters just write a bunch of stuff to supplement what they're saying and maybe ask someone else what they're saying about it.

oh also, before you have a chance to start gathering sources, we also want you to write a weekly column about some bullshit that you paid no attention to in any context prior over your time here.

also please be sure to have a minimum of two stories a day and work on that holiday feature piece that no one in their right mind would want to participate in.
