Full claim. Exactly what does your ability do?

Says the guy who won't give a single straight answer. No, I think I've said enough for now. I'd you're not happy, go ahead and lynch me.

The reason I want your claim is so you can prove it. Claiming whatever is most advantageous come Day 2 will prove nothing. I will happily lynch you if you're not willing to give details.

Also, answer my other questions.

It's a trap, though. Anyone who lynches Red is obvious scum.
Because... Red's town?
Because it was way too early to hammer someone and there wasn't much evidence. I mean, if he ended up flipping as scum, then no, it's not likely that we'd hang the hammer guy the next day.

But guess what; I'm screwed either way now.
Why are you screwed? There's one vote on you at this point. This entire post makes me feel like you care way too much about how you're perceived by others.
I think you missed the point because I was talking about how little I cared at that point. I'd already voted, unvoted, revoted. I know I look like foolish town at best, poorly played scum at worst. I don't give a
shit what I look like or how many votes I have.
Dechs Kaison » Tue Jul 01, 2014 7:32 pm wrote:
You're pushing pretty hard for a wagon that has damn little supporting it.
Why were you voting for Red again?
Because Kaze said so. Then not because I didn't realize I was putting him at L-1 and I didn't think I should. Then again when I thought it over and said I didn't think he was going to hang anyway and to pressure him into a claim. Then unvote because why the fuck not at this point. The wagon was dead.

So I'm at four votes, I guess I should claim something.

Vanilla town with a two shot ability that is a perfectly reliable investigative power.
You soft claimed aleady. Reminding us repeatedly that you're a PR is for scum. It's time for a full claim.
Does PR mean perfectly reliable, or something else? I
told you I'm investigative and the ability will give reliable results, but it's only two shot. I can't quote the PM, right? So what more do you want?
Full claim. Exactly what does your ability do?
I target someone at night and as long as I'm not blocked or the target is protected, I'll know his alignment and role the next day.

There, is that good enough for you?

DK looks increasingly town after reading the irritation in his last post. I know the feel of having experienced players latching onto you as a townie and wanting to tell them to fuck off and die.

You never said why? :argh:

You starting look like scum to me with the wanted claim with a little wagon on DK. How is he going to prove his role to you? There was no opportunity to prove the role and you just wanted to get some poor digest to claim to start a claim chain. That is BS and now I think you are scum or one of the creatures at least.

What you are doing is not scum hunting. It is role

Stardust has been playing Mafia for longer than I have if I remember correctly.

Do you really think he'd be this brusque as scum?

Actually, I'm fairly sure you've got me beat. I've played in maybe a dozen games or something.

But anyway, I didn't ask for his claim for no reason. I asked for it when he was at L-2, just after I unvoted for safety reasons. I never got an answer and never stopped wanting to lynch him, so I wanted more than "investigative role" if I was going to leave him alone for today.

Is his wagon small now anyway? I haven't really been paying attention.

Heh, quite the mess of wagons we've got going on here. I'll do a reread early next week and see if I can't push you guys to vote Wraith. That failing, I guess I could try to find something else you guys will be more willing to play with.

ham, have you got *any* significant way to make me believe your claim? You could just be a cult leader or something in my eyes.

Well, Red, you could try to night kill me multiple times and see if I survive. You and your gang up to the challenge?

Let me rephrase that: have you got any way to make me "and my gang" believe your claim without having us hanging you and search your leftovers for your role PM?

Posted: Sun Jul 06, 2014 5:22 pm
by hamfactorial
Lynching me is the only way to believe it 100%, homie. If you're looking for certainty, mafia isn't the game for you.

You could waste a day lynching the neutral, or you could find the actual scum and have me as an ally. What do you think?

Posted: Sun Jul 06, 2014 6:29 pm
by RedNihilist
Why so bitter?
I've just asked you if you had any kind of way to prove your very convenient claim, I'm not insulting you or anything.

On the other hand you've gone from implying I was scum to asking me to behave properly because I should welcome you as an ally and just hunt scum, which isn't really the kind of reaction I was expecting for you.
I mean, I remember you don't reacting too well to pressure, yet I don't feel like you're being pressured at all at the moment, so be a good guy and keep your cool.

Now, think about it for a second, we don't have to hunt strictly for mafia members, our aim is to eradicate threats to town and if you're really a Cult Leader you just have to die before the endgame.
I understand my question can be unpleasant to you, but I feel like enquiring you is legitimate from my part.

I'm not bitter, I just don't trust anyone as a neutral player since I have no team to lean on.

This is an awkward tone to take with someone you're not voting - especially when you're not voting period.

I'm irritable when I haven't eaten before venturing into the deceit subforum.

I haven't played as a neutral before, and having to distrust both factions at the same time is a stress I wasn't prepared for.

I'll be happier when posting now :frog:

Town has no reason to give a damn about you as long as you don't have a factional kill.

(That's another strike against Red, btw.)

Granted since neutrals don't count against the town win condition this is essentially 6:2 assuming two scum.

So, a mislynch today would mean 4:2 tomorrow which would make tomorrow Mislynch-and-Lose.

This game sucks the more I think about it.

Pie threw a big ass fucking rock at my head and it somewhat stung, my lawyers will hear of this

that said

T/S/stuff/reads:

Stardust: Proactive, fairly town imo

Kazekirimaru: Proactive, tried to end rvs, he's fairly town imo

RedNihilist: The annoyed tone of his posts aside, not sure, he seems prone to lashing out at people for questioning him, which I'm not sure if I should read that as town or not

Lord_Mcdonalds:

Imopen2: The post/vote on ham felt forced, nevermind I don't like loaded questions.

Rezombad: Needs to post more imo, but I like his questioning of wraith

DK: Claimed cop, provable role, so gonna wait until day 2 to comment further, no real reason to push that further

ham: If he is to be believed (which I kinda do) he is neutral, not sure how to feel about that given I've never
played with a neutral

Wraith223: Annoying gifs aside, I actually don't know what to think of him, aside from his omgus, I'm kinda meh to his posts (which is something else I've yet to figure out what to think of), I want to see how he responds to further pressure though

If I had to go with my gut, Imopen2 but I'd like to pressure wraith more

so vote wraith

sorry i was gone. forgot to post that i would be camping all weekend

just read through everything but it's midnight and i need to sleep. i think we leave ham alone for now. i think his best chance at winning is to help us and free information (that we may be able to test) is great.

I'll get behind that idea to pressure Wraith more. Stardust wanted a full claim out of me, got it, then voted Wraith. Wraith's reaction was to call Stardust scum and vote back. I'm not liking that. Smokescreen and mudslinging tactics, if you ask me.

vote Wraith

Lmd- gets prodded and calls my posts "meh" when he has not done shit for town. Not a damn thing. Finds red old as well but does not vote him.
DK- I try to help, he votes me. Is he just trying throw suspicion off himself? He does not see this as obvious scum tactics to get players to admit roles to NK the best player?
Kaze- I call Claim chain. Starting a vote to get a medium wagon to force a claim followed by letting the target go for a "town call". The scum moves on to the next target to begin a new cycle. You could call it a town idea to clear players, but the information is not reliable for town. Scum need any information to build a better plan and to work around certain players (use your imagination). I find Stardust perfectly capable of being brusque scum. Why? The meta in the game is getting well known and changing tactics is the best way to throw players off. Also, never have seen him ignore my
questions before. That's new.

Think Kaze, Rez, and I are the only ones scum hunting so far. Stardust is role hunting and has yet to answer my questions.

Rez, Thoughts on Stardust so far?

This is a misdirection post. Put me on the defensive to repost my thoughts. Typical scum move to throw off the suspicion and look innocent.
You have yet to state specifically why I am scum? I don't get it? Red has thrown multiple scum tells out and personal attacks, yet these are ignored? In order to get cleared as town; one must post like a complete bitchy D-bag (frustrated town as some call it)? Don't you think this is unreliable with this happening in many
games so far? That is my current gut feeling on the clams so far. Having a gut feeling is ok for voting a player, but what is it based on with me? I am highly interested as past games with you generally have detailed listing why you vote someone.

The language between Ham and Red was really odd. Think they are cult/wolfy/or alien.

Also, Did ham just claim neutral?
