I once learned from a very wise person that there is a natural sloughing process to most things in life. Humans not only are very adaptable, but seem to require a certain amount of adaptation; we not only live through chaos but thrive best with a little bit of it going on in the background. Those things that are meant to flourish will, despite our best efforts, and those things that are meant to die off will simply rot away if we let them.
