James is a douche bag.

Agree.

He's a douche.

No doubt about it.
Pip disagrees

"Magma Jet is the most overrated card in standard" - Patrick Sullivan.

Thoughts?
Agreed that it's overrated. The most? Well, there are certainly other cards worthy of consideration.

I'm looking at you, Thoughtseize.

Methamphetamine.

This isn't the pitt fighting thread! (Sorry to everyone who isn't a mod and doesn't get this joke... )

Magma Jet is overrated. Being the best burn spell in your respective format doesn't make it good, it just makes it better than the rest of the shit. There's a reason eternal lists don't play Magma Jet.

Raves are very high risk... like any extreme sport, and you're definitely right that some people don't understand the physical duress involved. Info campaigns help ravers prioritize sustainable, healthy living outside of the party scene. Advocacy groups also form the root of dance community networks, which seems to be the only practical safety net against violence/irresponsible consumption.

People have been dancing themselves to exhaustion while high as kites for millennia. The practice seems pretty stupid under the reasonable fluorescence of an ER, but..

"Attending a satyr revel requires a high tolerance for pain."

:rakdos:
Never been to
a rave, myself. Plently of shows with the whole floor being one big pit, though. I figure it's the same principle, just with a different favoured psychedelic.

That said, dancing should never be discouraged.

I value Magma Jet pretty highly in the red mirror (in addition to shock, not instead of) because it lets you squeeze a little more threat density. I feel like this matchup is often decided by who draws into more threats relative to the other's spell density. Thoughts?

OR flood is bad in the mirror, more breaking news @ 11

But the specific R/B list I'm running can fit an extra 4x 2 cmc spells because it can't play Ashley.

by zemanjaski
Well, Shock is the second best card in the mirror after Reckoner, so shock with upside is good too. Magma Jet is a bit iffy if you're aggro in the semi-mirror, but amazing if you're control.

I'm too lucid.

Ran the Dos Rakis deck with 8-8-reck-3-3 curve with Dreadbore, Strike, 2 Chandra's. Got totally screwed by variance for 0-3 (no game wins) drop and mulliganned 8 times in those 6 games. Ugh.

Fun fact Suga, I submitted Akira Corsani (sp?) in a submission grappling comp at the Renzo Gracie academy when I was in the us last time. Trained with Kampmann, Forest Griffin and trained under Drysdale (pics of us together on my FB).

<<<< certified badass.

Z, right before I broke a vertebrae in my back I had signed on with a local gym. The guy who owns in is Tom Murphy, who was on TUF season 1 and had a few fights in the UFC. Anyways, long story short, he's good friends with GSP and since I used to live about an hour from Montreal, GSP would come down and work at the gym with the guys sometimes. It's too bad I broke my back or else it would have been a blast. I already had stand up training from Golden Gloves.

Sucks about your back. I know what that's like, I twisted my spine hitting a switch in an open weight match earlier this year. Didn't walk for two days.

My worst injury was nationals 2011 (featherweight blue belts) where in my quarterfinal I was up 11-0 on points, but exhausted, got kimura'd. Instead of tapping I let him tear my shoulder apart. Had eight weeks before I was fully recovered.

Not since pre release. ;)

I dunno, I think I'd much rAther play dimir charm thAn it at this point. Not a bad card by any means, but I don't think it is the AUTO 4 OF in control that some think

I'm just saying dimir charm actually deals with shit. Why that is probably more of a argument for it replAcing price/blade, i dunno, Azo charm never really feels like it has done much either for or against me.

Given, I don't think esper can cut all 4, but I debate that it has to be an all 4 of

Besides, the question of overrated cards are purely subjective regardless, so idk, I don't feel that my evaluation skills hinge on that (granted, they are probably questionable anyways, but eh.)
