Got to go with megtron, I love those swishy faggy 80's and 90's cartoon villians.
"Megatron made me gay."
Can we use Beast Wars Transformers? I was always a pretty big fan of the crazy flying ant guy.

Beast Wars was a superior show of the 90s.
The fact that Cheetor is a character says enough.

Did my rebuttal get taken down on your article zem?
Or I guess, what would make more sense would be if Mr. Newman deleted his post.

Can a couple of you guys respond to "Nick Newman" in my latest article? I don't want to tear him up, so if you could be nice about it, that would be great. I don't want to have to respond to every post and I am already in a bad mood. Thanks.
responding to criticisms by sending people to argue looks pretty bad, especially when you ask in a public thread
how do you expect to keep up the gig if you're getting pissed at some comments in your second article
also that guy on mtgs is correct. there is a lot of obvious stuff in the article that reads like filler. tighten it up you australian bastard.

Finally read the TWoo article.
I'd test the deck as it seems sweet but the comments....................fuck that guy. Like, fuck him. FUCK. I'm legitimately something. Mads not the word. But fuck him.

I'll definitely take on board the critique re: criticism
The article however was written to a brief, at the level of sophistication they want. They don't want stuff like my Magma Jet article yet, maybe in the future.

The thing about the obvious stuff is that the article is so thorough. For one, the general magic populace including those that read articles and play semi-competitively are bad at evaluating red. I mean, some pros still think Selesnya beats Red. Wescoe maybe does, but that's an exception. Tons of people thought firedrinker satyr was unplayable.
But really, in general, people only know anything about the decks that have won tournies. Which is reasonable. But that doesn't mean that they don't want to find out about how other decks play out and I think YP is a fringe enough card on the BIG spectrum of things that it needs to be dumbed down to all the basic interactions. One reason red decks aren't appealing to lots of players is because they don't understand all the layers to playing it. Showing all the little things is a big way to generate interest in an archetype when you learn that YP can babysit a desecration demon.

I had the "wow this stuff is just common knowledge, Z" when I read his article...
then I remembered that it was common knowledge because he's been saying this to us for the past 10 months. Its time for the rest of the community to get on our level

I agree with the folks. Your article is the common knowledge for red mage. Good introduction to Red World though. But that should have been the first article.
And yep, we're not your personal army. We like ya Zembro, but that was low-blow.

Guys...I may play UW control.
wanna play against my Gruul deck?
I enjoy being able to shit on U/W control and that's what the competent people in my local meta are on right now. I just want to make sure I'm right with my SB plan that Ruric Thar is bad and how many destructive revelry's to run (And how bad are 0/3 plants)

Sylvan caryatid is close to unplayable at this point. Ruric thar is very good if you can resolve it(preferably if they don't have Elspeth). I like 2 revelries vs. UW.
Those are my gruul musings for the day.

I wonder if daze would be good, or absolutely horrible for modern.
Posted: Wed Dec 11, 2013 3:13 am
by LP, of the Fires
Probably a non-issue. It's not like the blue decks can take advantage of mana denial like they can in legacy. Still, turn 1 delver, daze your bolt is sexy.

Caryatid into mistcutter or overloaded mortars is still where you need to be vs. Mono U though...

I'm also tempted to play UW if that makes you feel better, LP. I get some sort of sick enjoyment out of knowing my only wincons are one Elspeth, one Elixir, and two Mutavault.
that said I also don't have the money to drop on 4x Revelation, 3x Jace AoT (wish I woulda gotten a second playset @ $8/ea

), 1x Elspeth and all the little stuff (Verdicts, Spheres, etc.). if I was dropping huge amounts of cash come tax return time, I'd rather dump it into speculation targets or something that'd hold value post-rotation (like Voice. I can play Naya Ragetears with Voice!)
maybe I'll go back to playing some Cockatrice.

Good luck with that scorpion shit. Sounds fucking terrible.
ALso, what the fuck is the purpose of the various blathering threads?
The probably say the seem thing about our clan thread, but ours at least makes sense since it's under the headline of "clan". The blathering shit, while not horrible or anything just looks like a bunch of random spam. I read it from time to time and I just scratch my head.
Blathering is essentially a support group for a bunch of recovering addicts.
Also, yes, fuck all the scorpions of Texas. I hear that if you pour vodka on them they'll get so drunk they sting themselves to death.

Because I don't do anything for the site as a whole and a lot of people on that list do. It would also be sad winning, given I have been close to banned twice.
