I literally can't lose in pauper, 14-0 with this version.

I'm under the impression that burn is terrible in legacy right now 'cause of Show n' Tell/lots of combo decks burn can't interact with
This is accurate. Painted Stone is the red deck of choice atm, largely because it has main-deck S&T hate.

Correct. However, this doesn't prevent people from playing burn in the tournament. If you don't have byes for the first couple of rounds you do have to consider it, since you could very well play against it all three of your first rounds and just get knocked out of the tournament randomly.
Alex, are you saying UB Control needs to nutdraw, or RUG Delver? My experience is that its slightly RUG Delver sided, but they're unlikely to have any
experience against the archetype, which pushes it towards even.
You as a UB player should have to nutdraw, or at least that was my experience when playing basically the same deck. (I played the version that played Chrome Mox instead of one of the Innocent Bloods.) I always felt stupidly soft to the mana tax in the RUG matchup, like I didn't have a chance to get off of the ground unless I stuck the T2 Crucible. If they flip the Delver on you and you're not holding the Blood your only other option is to hope that you can Brainstorm into one quickly through their limited permission.

Turn 1 Delver when I am on the draw without Innocent Blood is:
- on the draw (50%);
- they have Delver in hand (42% x 50%);
- I don't have Innocent Blood (50% x 42% x 50%)
= 12% or about 1 in 8 games. That seems OK.

That might be the difference. I was playing only 2 Innocent Blood.

Its a big deal sure, even then, I am not claiming a good matchup, just a fair one. The UWR matchup is much better (they don't have Stifle, Tarmogoyf; they have 4 maindeck Swords which are blanks).

I might just have to jump on the Alex Bertoncheaty train and play Esper Blade, 'cause I now remember how fucking gay Lingering Souls is after glancing over some recent legacy results. Yuck.

Also there is Notion Thief in this deck. Sorry James, but you can't beat that level of swag.

I used to run one myself. It is inconsistent but very instant-win if it resolves.

That feel when you repeal a creature to your opponent's hand on their end step and they have to discard it >:)

I'm curious as to how to play Preordain correctly
Posted: Mon Dec 16, 2013 3:00 pm
by DroppinSuga
I've used Preordain as an opening play when I keep a sketchy hand. I've also used it to set up my Delver flip. Those are both probably wrong.

Posted: Mon Dec 16, 2013 3:06 pm
by zemanjaski
Dare I write an article on a blue card?
Briefly:
- preordain + 1 land is a poor keep
- if you're playing a MUC or Kilnclops deck, then yeah, setting up your flip is incorrect. Both decks have a ~50% hit rate anyway, so having good draws is more important. You're not always winning on the back of a Delver.

Confession: I'm actually new to Trigun. My wife, however, has seen it, so we watched six episodes of it last night. Anime titles were difficult to come by. Most rental places didn't have them, and when they did, they'd be missing episodes. My wife was semi-lucky to have a friend who was obsessive about anime, so she has seen quite a bit of it. (I say semi since he's a bit of a tool otherwise.)
To balance it out, though, she hadn't seen The Godfather and quite a few other movies before she met me.
