My friend wrote a piece about why the video game community is shitty if you're a girl. She received a bunch of death and rape threats in response. Then her friends boyfriend told her to get over it and that she needed a thicker skin followed by a number of my friends and I dogpiling on him.
The highlight was when he said he got beat up once in grade school for having long hair and that therefore white men also have problems as bad or worse than the systematic oppression of non straight white males.

It was funny because as he was arguing with me into the night, mid-argument, a female streamer started laying a verbal smack down on some guys who were harassing her in chat and when people told her she should just ignore them she was basically like "that's fucking bullshit" and then went into an anecdote about how a recent female LoL pro (nien?) got harassed out of the community and stopped playing some mode or something (I know nothing about league).
I had a good laugh that he was being dismantled in real time by some random drunk streamer completely outside of our chat
