Also, NGE is the best anime ever and I won't talk to anyone who suggests otherwise.

About Magic Online...the start up package seems to include a bunch of cards (the sign up page mention over 650 cards). What are these? Can they be used in Standard Events? And Pauper Events (2-mans and 8-mans) have the same price support as similar Standard and Modern events, right?
The above questions about MODO went unanswered, so let's repost them.
No, they're gold bordered if I recall correctly. You do get some &
quot;new player event tickets" though, which you can use to play in some phantom events that do pay out in real prizes, so there's that.
Ok, I knew they used to be gold-bordered, but I saw no indication that the current ones are as well. But after some digging around I got the impression that they are gold-bordered after all. Oh well. New player phantom events cost 1 new player point and 1 event ticket, payout: 1 booster to winner (of 4). So in theory, it would be possible to play 20 of those (for the 20 new player points) with what you start with if you win about one third of the events (even less maybe...). More than that and you start getting out ahead. Or can you get any decent pauper deck for 4 tickets?

NGE has been on my "too watch list" for about seven years.

I must be going on too little sleep here...I thought what I read from you a while back was a negative take on NGE, Z. I am honestly too far removed from it (like 15 years or better) to have a meaningful opinion. I liked most of what made it onto the racks at Blockbuster back then (our only real access to anime until consumer Net was up to streaming), including NGE, D and so on. I cry your pardon, Z...I didn't mean to give offense. :grovel:

I generally aim not to give offense to other people's passions when my understanding is less than "well-informed", and I try to take responsibility for my bumbles. Now, disagreement within the realm of my passions is a different story altogether...I will draw blood and shed nary a tear to put down a poser or brickhead. I'm trying to pass this on to my kids with only marginal success...they will shake rafters loose and threaten irreparable harm to one another over nearly any perceived slight, and they're not much better with other people. Ah well...I knew the job was dangerous when I took it...

Correction: Changing Not terrible to actively very good. Consider me a fan of Miss Cyrus's Music.

Yeah, and as much as Disney Channel generally drives me nuts, I have to give props to Daddy Cyrus for finding an outstanding way to get his girl into the industry. The man learned some hard lessons as a one-hit wonder, and his navigating of Miley through the Disney machine and out into the world was worth a nod. As to Miley herself, I agree that the girl has a voice and a heart. Everybody puts their foot in it from time to time, and it's regrettable that we as a society stand ready to bash those who rise above when they show themselves human and fallible.

The cards are black bordered and playable. You also get 5 Tix and 20 New Player points

Wow, that's changed then. That startup cost looks like a real bargain in this case. Now I just have to try the free trial version to check how slowly it runs on our laptop...

Re: tablets. I have an Asus Transformer Prime and I love it. Apple tablets are fine but they don't offer me what the Asus does. If you are interested in a tablet look at the reviews on it and don't take my word for it.

In other news, I think my second son will be born very, very soon. We're less than four weeks away from the due date, but my wife is feeling rather odd lately, which leads me to believe that he'll be here before the end of the year.

Very exciting! My wife is 28 weeks and she's been complaining of back pain the past couple of days. Last night it was almost unbearable for her so she may go to the doctor since she's off work today. She delivered our twins at 34 weeks so she has a history of premature labor.

I cannot approve awful lyrics like these

I'm in the club high off purp with some shades on
Tatted up, mini skirt with my J's on

I think I lost actual brain cells listening to that
