Re: Mutavaults. Got mine while they were at $10. Don't plan on selling anytime soon. Maybe if they do something ridiculous like hit $30 I'll consider it.
Oh, if they start rising past $30 or so I'm jumping ship. They're gonna crash to $10-$15 or so after they leave Standard I'm guessing (similar to Cavern).

This is their second printing, and they're actually seeing less and less play in eternal formats (tribal decks that want this effect aren't good right now and haven't been for a while) so I can see the settling around the $8-$9 mark; thing is, unless you're tribal, you'll run Mishra's Factory first as it is strictly better.

Unless the Eternal format is Modern.

Unless the Eternal format is Modern.
I've been told that Modern isn't an eternal format since it can only get new cards through Standard (as opposed to Commander products, for instance) and there are a bunch of sets that aren't allowed because they're from before the cutoff.

I thought the definition of an Eternal format was "does not rotate".

The only people that are anal about that is the "OMG modern is so much different And I never ever want it to be like legacy evur!" Crowd in my experience

Modern isn't really a format. Outside of PTQ season it's not really played

As opposed to what? Legacy and Vintage? I haven't seen a sit-down game of either of those outside a tournament since the 90's.

I've played plenty of sit down legacy games. I've never seen a sit down moder game. Format is really really bad compared to legacy, and that the truth.

Consider my position on you changed for the positive. You're now in the circle.

Legacy is better, yeah.

Modern is Legacy for poor people.

Being poor people, I play Modern.

I've gotta go with Kaze on this one.

Also, you might remember how I was sick a week ago and thought I was getting better? Nope, got worse. Now have a prescription for antibiotics. Let's hope I can still hit up the iq this weekend...

Also, put up my thing in the rogue's gallery since I'm back home from vacation.

the large LGS in Boston holds a $5 modern tournament once a month on Sundays. Hoping to go again this coming Sunday. It's fun - a nice change of pace from Standard, and I know the cards a lot better since a lot of the Legacy stuff came around after I stopped playing in the 90s and before I picked it back up again a couple years ago.

That said, many modern staples are also legacy staples - fetches, 'goyf, Bob, Liliana, etc. That's where I've concentrated my collection.

Heh, it is indeed a glorius thing, Kaze.

Last day of work until the 13th of January.

I'll be away from the 27th to the 5th, but will still be around for Mafia, condescending posts and drunken rants.

Except SCG has a great Legacy circuit...yea it's a tourney scene, but it is year-round.

Does Pauper even exist outside the MODO scene?

Well, today I learned that my internet has been shut off because my housemate has been pirating like a motherfucker. Like, 100GB or more per day. Apparently we've gotten three warnings, but that was new information to me too. And I can't deal with it until I get back to work and get paid again on January 8th. Normally I'd just get my fix from work, but my two week stay-cation starts this weekend.

So after tomorrow when I leave work, I'm MIA until the second week of January. If I don't come back around to say it, Merry Christmas ya chucklefucks.

And if you don't celebrate Christmas, have an excellent day.

PS - I'm glad you liked your shirt, Raida.

Legacy does not exist in my area unfortunately. Modern is once a month at FNM and every so often the local LGS will host some Sunday Modern tournaments. Wish I could get the Legacy scene going here again but everyone sold off their stuff when the events around here died. Their excuse was "50% of the meta was burn and it got stale so people stopped showing up."

Legacy does not exist in my area. Most players joined around Zendikar. Modern, Standard and Draft are our dominant formats. Even than we do Modern once a month with a tourney on the weekend maybe. Standard takes the cake here though with draft a close second.

Both legacy and modern are too expensive, even though WotC promised they'd keep the format accessible. I love how that's the promise they break and not the moronic reserve list. I am still surprised that legacy is doing as well as it is with that albatross hanging around its neck. My personal opinion is that anything legacy or modern legal that gets over $40 would be reprinted as soon as possible, but that's just me, and I don't think that $1000s is a reasonable outlay for a deck in any format.

And I have a decent group for pauper and a local shop runs tourneys every sunday. And with it being paper pauper people love them some hymn to tourach. Also the metagame is fairly unstable, since every week at least half the players switch decks.

I can only assume that you're burned out at the end of the year, because you're getting much, much worse at this. Or maybe you need Spam to coach you?
