I gues to many games are meant for little kids and are way to short. I am staying away from them for now.
Them's fighting words.

But in all seriousness, if you're not up for the likes of Shin Megami Tensei 4 or take joy in spending 20+ hours completely combing through a dungeon for loot, then yeah, DS games probably won't appeal.
Don't misunderstand me, I loved my Gameboy, Sega Game Gear, and Nintendo flip screen thing. It's just that the games got way to easy or the replay value sucked. PSP was the best in my view as it was a ps1/2 in a handheld, but
going full internet downloaded games ruined it. I have no idea what game you are talking about, but yeah...not my cup of tea. More of a Mass Effect, Batman Arkham series, CoD, and Halo guy.

Save your money and if you must have it; don't use plastic to buy it. Target is having security issues. I stopped playing handhelds cause the games keep getting worse.
I think that depends on your genre of choice. If you like JRPGs, handhelds will always be king.
I loved Battlefront 2, Star Wars Battlefront Rouges (I think), X-men Legends series, and Ace Combat X on PSP. Played them to death. My
PSP broke down and I traded it away for Nintendo DS since Vita sucks in my opinion. The problem was that the games were just not as entertaining and look like shit. The new system looks good but g4 has been giving the games meeeeh ratings. I gues to many games are meant for little kids and are way to short. I am staying away from them for now.

Are they really finally putting smash brothers on 3DS?
G4 has not had a legitimate video opinion in a couple of years. Mainly they dropped off after Adam Sessler left the channel. He was their wonky and last respected video game journalist.

Most American video game journalist pander to the developers that are shoveling money into their domain. I normally stick to Vg247 (happens to be European) cause they cut through the BS and stopped dealing with developer-critic mutual jerk off that keeps the field from being legitimate.

I held off getting a 3DS until Pokemon X/Y released and has been an amazing buy but if you aren't into RPGs/JRPGs
or Platformers then you might want to skip out on it. If you do get one though these are some games you will want:

Legend of Zelda: Orcarina of time (remake but still amazing)
Legend of Zelda: Link Between World's (throwback and sequel to Link to the Past)
Pokemon x/y
Donkey Kong Country Returns (one of the best Nintendo Platformers in the last decade.)

Also any non-3ds title still works so you can get Chronotrigger rerelease and a few others. Any of the Mario World or Super Mario 3DS titles are solid.

I love my 3DS - ready for Smash Brothers.

Super smash bros. Always was my favorite Nintendo game.
You're showing your age, or lack thereof.

Super Metroid, Chronotrigger, Zelda: LTTP...these are all acceptable choices. Super Smash Brothers? Excellent game. Not even in the same league though.

But then again, it is YOUR favorite game. I just feel bad that you weren't able to live through the
golden years of gaming.
MegaManX.

All day, erryday.

I noticed their website looked a little unkept, but they had a few titles reviewed unless I was mistaken on the platform. I hate Pokémon. :no2: Always have cause it looks to stupid cause it's not anything close to
what grew up with or liked.

I have had fairly good success with Star Wars games and poor success with Marvel Games in the handheld world. Metal Slug is an outlier of awesomeness though.

Only Megaman titles I really liked were the Zero games (I only remember the first one or two) and the Battle Network games (mostly 3, played 4 and 5 but didn't like them). I remember playing MM2 (I think) on my original Game Boy Pocket when I was like five and couldn't beat the final boss(es?).

@Wraith, g4 pretty much shut down when they were supposed to become a "modern men" channel named Esquire. Viacom changed that idea about aid way through the year after releasing a majority of their employees (on air talent and producers).

My suggestion is avoid the 3DS and invest in a major console. The vita is a semi supported handheld but a majority of the games you have listed can really only be enjoyed on the major consoles. Even the PSP Vita doesn't have many similar experiences as it's big brothers PS3/ps4

I played the ds remake of chrono trigger, good game, but not my favorite.
I just have awesome memory's of going over to my friends house when I was 5-6 and playing big tourney ments of Ssbs. Just great times. If you ask me for my favorite games, they will usually be ones that I greatly enjoyed with others. Beacause if you can't enjoy games with others, what's the point?

You raise a valid argument, but it can be refuted with one word: POKÉMON.

To be fair pokemon is the reason that hand held consoles continue to exist and didn't die out in the late 90's.

The music to the first level, "Vampire Killer," is one of my favorite tunes of all time. It's been stuck in my head since elementary school.

When they were dropped by Direct TV; they really steam. What a loss though.

Was speaking of the intimidator straight up changes your multiple types to singular coward cause then, all rats just die...from cowardice.

Also, why the fuck hasn't CFB's orzhov deck picked up steam? It plays 3 of the best cards in standard('vault, thoughtseize, soldier of the pantheon) and spear of heliod factually kills people off the top all the time.
It's not very good.
nElaborate :stubborn:
It has only middling matchups against the 4 big archetypes: Mono U, Mono B, Mono R and UWx. If everyone were playing dorky midrange decks it would be really good, but that isn't a thing right now. The deck wants to face a lot of green creature decks, as that exaggerates the strength of WW; but green creature decks are completely unplayable now because:
- black removal is super prevalent
- decks maindeck lifebane zombie and tidebinder mage

So your natural prey is not out there. It just isn't well positioned.

That and the port apparently has issues (read: flat doesn't work) on newer windows os

Tonight, no. I'm at FNM, so Seminole, FL will be getting pissed on. Tomorrow, though, is the real party. Magic 8 Ball says: fuck yes.

My plan to out the lurkers has worked.

The HD version has been out for a while? I know of the decade+ old one. Eh.

I just really liked FF8 despite Squall being the whiniest little shit ever.

I liked about half of FF8, but it lost me after they went into space. The Eyes on Me song was good though, and I like the piano collections of that soundtrack.
