Tell them about how you're the IRL Grim Lavamancer then burn their dinner to drive the point home.

Take two of their rubbish bins and throw them out the window.

When they ask why you did that punch them in the face twice.

Variance is not being kind to me tonight. Lost the first games of two straight eight mans.

Also, I'm sick of "Turn one Thoughtseize you." I'm even more sick of the baddies that keep it in against me postboard and still win.

Thoughtseize is indeed a bit of a home-wrecker...crafting a hand and then losing your pivot card all kinds of sucks.

WHY DO PEOPLE PLAY BRAINSTORM IN PAUPER?
Because people like brainstorm, to illogical levels. It's blue's lightning bolt (though technically that title belongs to ancestral recall since they were in the same cycle), however unlike lightning bolt it is much more contextual, and pauper is an improper context. Of course people love them any 1 mana blue deck manipulator with no card disadvantage.

You do need to try to gay it up a little more.

You're like the least gay member of this clan.

You know, after putting that together it might not be too bad, had it pretty shitty there for a second, but quirion dryad makes it not completely terrible.

That player which won the GP with BR actually boarded in TS against red that how strong thoughtseize is, its just all about the timing.

Creatures
4 Delver of Secrets
2 Sea Gate Oracle
4 Spire Golem

3 Gush

I'm legitimately interested in whether Vaporkin would be good and if Repeal is still good on only 19 land. Probably is.

I've been testing him in blue skies against some friends and he works fine there, but in MUC his inability to block a lot of things, and single toughness render him questionable. My question to you Z is why not try blue skies? You are obviously considering moving
in a more aggressive direction, and the cards are there to support it. I don't have a list I'm willing to share at the moment (a little embarrassing), but dropping the tribal synergy from faeries for just more and more efficient aerial beaters isn't panning out so bad.

Christmas shopping has been conquered. Things have been nuts. Car backed out of a parking spot and ran over an old lady. Now back to netflix and Firefly marathon.

@Darth, we tried to start Pauper (standard pauper only sadly) and it never caught on. EDH took its place.

Every blue skies deck I've seen is terrible. So unless the community as a whole is too dim to figure it out without me, then I conclude there isn't a good deck there.

For those who play pauper, has Perilous Research Affinity completely taken over the Disciple variants and the horrible white metal Craft variants?

Discarding nicol bolas, planeswalker to karn's +4 paints a REALLY BIG target on Karn's head. Proceeding to then ultimate karn the next turn tends to cause concessions. Is there a 1 mana way to get Nic off the board?

Actually, we celebrate on Christmas Eve around here, so it's been Christmas for 14 hours already. The first meal was just finished, now we wait a few hours and then it's the main course...

So yeah, Merry Christmas to you all!

I'm aware, yes. That doesn't mean they're right. I see a lot of black players keeping Thoughtseize in against even burn decks. Against a deck where the opponent's cards all do the same thing (3-4 damage) that's the last card you want to play.
