Dies to Rod of RuinMono blue isn't that great of a deck. It plays really powerful cards, but it doesn't actually do anything with them.

Another great Australian Beer Commercial: Beer Chase not as good as Its a Big Add but still very fun .

I would imagine Rx Devo to be a good MU for DosRakis, I think you should be more concerned about RDW and Small Aggro (Not sure if people play them in PTQ though) anyhows purp are ya gonna play in the Online Championship Qualifiers on the 8th?I expect there to be blue players at a PTQ. Also played against RW tonight in 3 mtaches, and destroyed him 2-0, 2-0,2-1 with DosRakis... Bad Pilots? Maybe, but I felt like he couldn't do anything against all my removal.

Whatever you play, know your deck and know your meta. PTQ's are easy for the first 4/5 rounds, after that you have to beat good players with the good decks that your region favors.
For me here in Cali, when I go to the San Diego PTQ, I know my deck has to be prepared for the mirror, and Orzhov agro with some Uw/x control thrown in.

The better players here on control(id say its even between esper and UW) and mono b or black splashing white. What has me worried is the random WW/red and mono U matchups. I plan on playing thursday and fnm to prepare for saturday this week. I might give RW devo a try thursday, and depending how I do decide. Between RW devo, big boros variant(there are just so many ways to build teh deck) or DosRakis .

You fuckers probably don't even keep up with basketball. Bunch of faggots.
In that kind of meta, Purp, I'd suggest any red deck really, or Esper. Esper beats UW, and I personally love playing against mono-black with esper. BW is slightly more challenging because of sin collector, but that doesn't really worry much.

Pro's of pros writing articles: People take that shit literally and you get 4/5 lightning strike regularly in Thero's draft. Owen is like, the 12th person talking about how he doesn't like red in Thero's limited and it's getting like black in Avacyn Restored: unplayable accept when you're the only drafter which is close enough to all the time and you end up with a broken deck.

Honestly, I like the meta here for dos rakis, which probably helped with the tourney.
It eats most control decks, and black devo (even with baron) is a favorable matchup. Blue devo is also a really good matchup, as is r/w devo. Dos Rakis is well off against almost all of the 'top' decks.
Really all it worries against can be small aggro, but effective trading and all of the removal helps a lot.

Man, my first reaction, no joke, when I saw the picture was, "Shit, there's a black man stealing a sheet of Magic cards! "Runner, runner victories this weekend. +300 dollars, 250 foil sheet, 1 40$ playmat, and 2 byes at GP Sacramento.
Good weekend.
But then I was like, "That's just LP! He must've won those. "
Congrats, dude.

Man, I keep reading about everyone playing in events and it's making me anxious to play in one. There's literally nothing in my area except for Sealed Win-A-Moxes. Fuck all that. Provided I can get the weekend off, I'm thinking of driving an hour and a half to Orlando in 2 weeks for some SCG thing.

I know the feeling Khaos. I had a PTQ and States in my backyard over the past three months but nothing really beyond that. There's an IQ in Panama City this weekend which is two hours from me but the EV just isn't there, plus with my wife being closer to her due date I really don't want to be too far away should something happen.
I know Orlando tends to have a decent number of events. My sister lives down there and maybe I'll be able to attend an event in that area within the next couple of years.

Orlando is a hot spot for Magic events, but in the Largo /St. Pete/Tampa area, it seems like events are drying up. I used to hear about 1ks and PTQs firing off all the time, but now it's like there's a drought occurring.
FNMs are becoming more and more boring for me. I want to play for blood!

Me and my friends are on the "drive everywhere" plan because FNM does not give you the same fix.Orlando is a hot spot for Magic events, but in the Largo /St. Pete/Tampa area, it seems like events are drying up. Waiting to see how people respond to made up words in order to judge them is inefficient.
Just use skin color or sexual preference like everyone else.
Really liking the new Dos Rakis deck.

I haven't played in anything over 25 people since states. I miss the nervousness I get at the thought of going 7+ rounds. Instead, I just get bored. And then drunk.
