There are detractors but I feel like Zoo is a legitimate strategy. Naya Zoo is pretty damn good.

See, my view is that I can do that in Standard and win any time I want, and that the other formats are where I branch out a bit and have some fun.

White has really great sideboard hate for a lot of popular decks, which is mostly why I want to play with it.

My favorite color combo is RB, so perhaps I should just brew up a Dega deck and turn dudes sideways.

The real reason I'm playing soul sisters is that it is just such a good meta choice for me and will win me store credit until I can afford to build something I really want to play.

Happy almost New Year and such :3

My uncle looks better than I expected. But still, yeah, down an eye. He's so down on painkillers I don't think he even knows we're here.

What else are you going to play in a dega shell? He's a dude that you can turn sideways in those colors.

Blood Baron isn't a good card.

Chapin hasn't written anything relevant in years. My fear is he becomes the next Flores.

I'd have black and red creatures and splash the white for sideboard cards and removal.

Reading PV's articles has really made me want to learn how to play control. I feel like I might really enjoy it, and possibly be good at it. Playing around Zem's legacy U/B definitely feels like a trial by fire, though.
To be fair, that's about the most skill intensive deck I have ever played as well; when your only realistic win condition is ultimating a planeswalker, its going to be a steep learning curve!

Blood Baron isn't a good card.
I like him better than most other cards at his cmc, but that doesn't say a lot since there is much to be desired there in those colors anyway.

You and I both seem to have a very conservative play style, Zem, while still having a preference for aggro decks.
Play what you enjoy and what wins.

So messing around with Pauper RUG Ramp:

[deck]
Creatures
4 Imperiosaur
4 Hallowhenge Beast
4 Mulldrifter
4 Ondu Giant

Instants
4 Lightning Bolt

Sorceries
4 Explore
4 Farseek
4 Preordain
2 Rolling Thunder

Lands
4 Gruul Guildgate
4 Izzet Guildgate
4 Simic Guildgate

6 Forest
6 Island
2 Mountain[/deck]

Want to look at a more control oriented version too; RUG plays all the best cards in the format, not close.

Yeah, I should probably step back from that list for a bit until I know what I'm doing. Tube can attest to how terrible that deck can be in the wrong hands. I
think one point I lost when he was hellbent and I had Jace.

I had him ship a revealed Prime Time or some other non-lethal threat that I had another answer to by the logic that it was stronger than the average card in his deck. Next turn he top decks scapeshift and I have no answer. Now, after reading PV's "Strategy and Tactics," I would never make that mistake.

Looks like I'll get my Remands in for Modern FNM on time, but I'm not sure about my Serum Visions. I'm wary of running UR Delver without them so if I don't get them in I may take it as a sign that I need to troll my LGS...HARD.
