I knew it was something on March 1 - I just didn't know (or really care) what it is.

Also, isn't 3 hours away exactly where you want to be while she's giving birth? I've been there... it ain't pretty.

The wrath my wife would lay upon me if I were to miss the birth of my third child would bring about a worldwide event of epic proportions.

Basically, I'm taking one for the team. It's a thankless job.

I hope BNG brings some sweet stuff and makes PyroBlack even better.

There is no reason whatsoever to play Kiora in Modern, she doesn't stand a chance there

@ group: Another slightly odd question. Can a player Rapid Hybridization their own Thrassa to just get a flash 3/3?
Yup, the target is valid.
Another "trick" monoU players do with Rapid Hybridization is killing a non-green, non-red creature of yours, then target with Tidebinder Mage the resulting token.

Yeah, I assume that means learn to play, which is a little harsh.

Strange question unless you're asking because you're wondering if you should watch your SO give birth in your future. In that case, I'll answer.

Some men can't handle it. They see blood and nasty stuff everywhere and faint on the floor. Especially with c-sections. They always keep an extra chair in the OR for daddies who start to feel a little woozy during the procedure.

If you're brave enough you'll look over the blue curtain and see your wife's stomach is cut up and the doctor has his hand in there up to his elbow trying to get the baby out. That's when you really find out what you're made of. Me? I have a strong stomach. I was all up in there taking pictures with my DSLR as these
blood-covered wrinkly babies came out of my wife's stomach with her flesh hanging off to the side.

It does mean learn to play, but I was agreeing with him.

I don't know... how turned on do you think you'd be by watching your woman blow a hairy bubble out of her vagina while likely pooping herself? Unless the answer is "very" then it's probably a mistake because that's not an easy mental image to get out of your head and eventually she's going to want to have sex again.

JS: It may be harsh, but that's not exactly a complicated rules question. Knowing that abilities on the stack resolve even if the permanent that generated those abilities is removed from play is right up there with knowing how Double Strike works.

On the other hand, if K8 is agreeing with me then I should probably be ashamed of myself.

I sorry.

Same here. First event back after a few months was a GPT and I scrubbed out hard. I need to start playing online again to keep in practice.

Awesome synergy that completely validates playing a UU 2/2 in the main.

What I find ironic is that when Mono-Blue Devotion first
came about all these Control players picked it up simply because it had blue in it and began praising all the different interactions it has and how fun the deck is, how complex the synergies are. These are the same people who said aggro is dumb and is just turn dudes sideways.

Guess what? Mono-Blue Devotion is a fucking aggro deck. If you're going to call aggro dumb, I'm going to call you hypocritical for liking Mono-Blue Devotion. Sure, it has a couple little twists like those tricks with Rapid Hybridization and Cyclonic Rift, and oh look you can make things unblockable with Thassa to draw cards through her bident, but none of that is any more "complex" than knowing how to use Magma Jet properly, sequencing your plays, knowing how to Rampager correctly, or Boros Charm, etc. etc. etc.

Nah, I'm just dumbfounded at all the control players I face when I'm on R/x aggro/tempo/devotion/whatever who call my deck dumb even when I beat them 2-0. These are the same players who picked up Mono-Blue and laugh because Master of Waves having pro-red is the most genius tech evah.

To put into perspective how goddamn dumb most mono blue players are, I hit someone with a Blood Baron while they had Master of Waves out yesterday.

The worst is when the blue player swings for lethal, lets you go to blocks while they have exava on board, then you kill whatever turning thassa off and go to 1, untap and kill them.

Most magic players are bad.
