Perhaps these legendary free health services come at the price of having the same ER waiting time than Guatemala's public hospitals.

And we have the best doctors, those guys can fix you up with masking tape if nothing else is available.

An urban legend tells the story of a rich man who needed a very risky and complicated heart surgery, so he told his cardiologist "fuck this, I'm getting first world attention in Houston", to which the doctor replied that it was a waste of money and that he would get top quality medical care here. The rich man just laughed at him and flew to Houston. There, the doctor told him to rest assured that they would fly in one of the top 3 cardiologists this side of the Atlantic. When the doctor met him at the OR, it was his Guatemalan cardiologist who just smiled because he was charging ten times as much for performing the surgery there.

Yeah, health care is a hot topic here. Wait times in Canada are legendary. Turns out giving people things for "free" doesn't stop them from wanting lower taxes.

I decided to make an appeal, politely stating why I believe my ban was unwarranted in the first place, but that even if they didn't agree with that, that there are no longer any reasons to keep me banned.

All because I wrote "JODER". Backwards. In Morse code. Hidden by smileys.

"Wounds too fresh" is a weird thing to say about the internet...

Weren't you banned for trolling anyway? I mean, I certainly wouldn't trust you not to continue trolling again, but banning you for one thing and keeping you banned for another is pretty shady.

it was for "habitual" trolling, one of the most maligned and toxic forms of trolling on the Internet

We've decided to decline your appeal at this time. The majority of the staff feel that the wounds from the time of your banning are too fresh & the drama too recent. Please feel free to appeal again in six months.

Stuff. I do remember quite a few Gutter members were hired on around the same time I was. I think that was sort of a failed experiment? Many of them had either resigned or been fired within the next few months.

7 months later the Gutter was closed and reopened and soon-to-be-closed again. Gutter members were angry that they were being treated unfairly. Mods were frustrated that the gang wouldn't go quietly. Things just went downhill from there. I guess most of the drive to do that was Curse? I think the initial push came from the admins though. Not
totally sure.
