Dogs and septic systems are the most common implements my job uses, but electric transformers and concentrated pool acids are high on the list as well.

It's always awkward telling your guests "Listen, I have a hang-up about mean dogs and I won't hesitate to use this on them, and the manual says there's a good chance it'll melt your dog's eyeballs. Please, please, for the love of all that is good, don't get your dog into a situation where I have to use this."

Although ironically the manual also says that there's really only a 50% chance it'll stop a bear.

Went to a conference last year and I ended up talking to the owner of another park who had one, obviously
rabid, one of his guests hit it with their unit. Like, got into their 42' motor home, started it up, and put the gas pedal all the way to the floor.

It did not kill the bear.

And yes, people can be that stupid.

Actually, telling that story reminds me: are the Canadian police just epically bad at their jobs, or what? I asked him why they didn't just call the cops and he said they "wouldn't come out that far."

Seriously, though, guys, go sign that. It takes 2 minutes, it's a secure system, and it needs to be done. I've gone beyond shock and I'm past the anger at the guy, now it's just a hollowness I feel. He won't do the right thing, and we all know it. It's about time we do things the right way ourselves, if you don't mind me saying. The lulz it is inspiring is just gravy.

i tweeted a friend who was going on an anti-circumcision tangent that lack of a foreskin helps protect against the spread of STDs and was immediately barraged by no fewer than 3 tweets back from both my friend and some person i have no idea who they are about how sad my life must be without a foreskin when all i was trying to say was that having a zealous anti-circumcision attitude can kill people

like if you have a foreskin i don't judge you for having it and cool on you if sex is better for you because of it (sex is pretty awesome without it so i have no frame of reference) but for people asking people to be more open minded about foreskin they sure don't leave a lot of room for people to be open minded about not having it.

it's hard to debate someone when you've literally watched doctors present on their findings saying that circumcision has saved lives when the person trying to debate you has no data and tells you that even if what they were claiming wasn't true that it doesn't matter because it feels better.

The principle of right to happiness is such a messed up worldview when you think about it. Yes, it is your right to seek happiness, but seeking all the a happiness is just somehow greedy, you know? Life isn't about seeking the ultimate pleasure all the time, and you'd burn out quick if you actually managed to do so and probably drag others down with you.

Especially one that divorced you
She didn't initiate the divorce, I did? She got offered a position in Tokyo, and I didn't really want to go, so we just decided to cut our losses, do our own thing, and if we were still as close later on down the line as we were when we spent basically every waking minute together (and we're still pretty darn close, I don't think either of us ever stopped loving one another) then we'd just do it all over again.

Nothing wrong with choosing different paths in life, a lot
of shit can change, and like many people have said, getting married that young was a big part of it. There were no hard feelings between us or anything, it was more like "I really want to do this, and I know you want to do that, so it's all good." I'd say we handled it like adults despite the naivety that it blossomed from. I still love the SHIT out of her and if she were to come back to the States I'd almost assuredly move back to Orlando if only to be close. She's my best friend, and as someone with pretty blatant Asperger's, it's generally very hard for me to feel feels correctly, but I know exactly how I feel about Natalie, and that's so worth the nonsense we went through for me.
no, she divorced you

It turns out that as a consequence of my legal troubles, I am no longer welcome in tat least one county of Arizona. It could be bullshit, but I just paid a pretty hefty fine in $3 money orders (the lowest amount I could write them for, apparently) so I know they are pretty mad.
so you paid 150% of your fine with an extra 50% going to the government anyway because of spite that seems less than optimal if frustrating them was your goal
There is a very bitchy old lady with very poor accounting skills that caused the most recent batch of issues I've been dealing with. She's also
the person who will have to deal with the boxes full of money orders currently taking up over half of her office, at least according to her - She must have a smallish office. She's also not the type to think "this idiot paid a ton of money for this stupid prank which involves me basically just doing my job, thanks asshole."
Eric, Ren and Jensen were activists
Heads loaded with theory, their hearts are filled with passion
Shared the same left wing politics
Liked the same music, they were part of the protest movement
Now, Anna presented herself as a feminist
Studied the way they talked and dressed
Fashioned herself an anarchist
Eric fell in love with Anna at the meeting of the crime think conference
He didn't know it but Anna was an FBI informant

I think we had this discussion and the conclusion was that unless you live in Africa and then everyone should be circumcised at young age you shouldn't do that to your infants, let them choose when they turn up 18.
