So caveat to getting high and drafting. I finished a bowl, had about 30 minutes until I had to leave, sat down and fell asleep. Woke up too late to draft, but moving as fast as I could I made it just in time for standard.

On the brightside it makes maze's end almost interesting to play against.

Fuck you guys, I win.

Kait is fine. Annoying but fine.
Just like Zem.

Sometimes I think scrumper was largely based on me. Being that kind of naive red mage who's second at his FNMs and could be considered a neckbearded shauvnist. I fucking hate neckbeard. The only thing I hate even more is shaving tho. I even do have medical explenation to that (it really often triggers my pain)

OH Sally.

DarkRitual Posted 1 day ago

Purp, From the forum rules:
Spam A spam post is any post that does not contribute an original thought, advance the discussion, or add on-topic content to a thread. Examples of spam posts include, but are not limited to:
bumping a thread (other than a haves/wants trading list)
discussing a topic that is not relevant to the thread it's posted in
posting excessively short messages such as "thanks", "k", "QFT", "Oh god no", just a single smily, etc.
just posting a single meme image
annoying/unreadable text
aggressive multiposting (posting several posts in a row within a short period of time)
thread necromancy (reviving a long since dead and irrelevant thread)
Sometimes your off-topic joke may be considered spam. It might be funny, but in and of itself it might also be spammy or even disruptive.
We welcome jokes, but they are best accompanied by actual relevant content as well.
This warning is for 1 points. For more information, see the section about Warnings in the Forum Rules. If you feel this warning was issued in error, you can appeal it from the Warnings & Bans page in your profile. Post in question:

"Go home."

Purp Posted 13 hours ago
His thread title is "Go BUG or Go home." he is asking the relevance of his deck, to which I replied go home. How is that spam? Bad deck is bad deck. Now if his thread topic was "What do you think of my BUG deck?" then I would understand how 'Go Home' could be spam.

DarkRitual Posted 3 hours ago
From the rules:

posting excessively short messages such as "thanks", "k", "QFT", "Oh god no", just a single smily, etc.

I understand that the phrase "Go Home" is answering a question. So
that would make your post equivalent to saying "I disagree". But the reason this is spam IMO is just saying you agree or disagree doesn't add anything to the conversation.

I wouldn't worry too much about the infraction. The basic purpose of this whole warning system is mostly a way to let people know what the rules are. And usually nothing happens of any consequence unless you are the type that flames/trolls all the time, which it doesn't sound like you are.

There aren't actually ANY good MTG forums.

reddit/r/spikes is probably the best and it certainly isn't good.

Like, we do red deck theory and a bit of other stuff REALLY fucking well, but we're so limited that I wouldn't call DTR a good forum either. If we could find some more similarly passionate users to help populate the subforums, then I feel that we would be in a position to say that we're a "good forum"

Mind you, I would go as far to say that most MTG writers aren't very good, myself included. There's so much half baked information out there. I have an extremely niche area that I write on for a reason.

I guess I am a known quantity as a grinder, and that has some value. There's a lot of websites publishing material that is extremely questionable. I wont name websites or names as a professional courtesy (thank you to Maverick for reminding me that I do owe this to others, given I would expect it in return).

I think that if that's how your write you lack creativity. There's always more scope for delving into how to play a deck, a matchup (my red mirror guide was extremely popular on CFB) or even just a card (my magma jet article for example).

For example, people actually want to know how to beat UW Control with Mono U Devotion; how to sideboard, when to counter and so on. Add some illustrative examples of easy and hard decisions and you have an engaging article.

I mean, I have the advantage of only needing to provide content every few weeks; but Caleb Durward manages to provide something awesome every week, so it's possible.

Well, and no writer for Magic is, you know, an actual journalist; your average parish priest blows them away in time and resources, it's not like you can expect great works of literature. No offence meant to Z or any Magic writer, they do great work IMMHO for what they get paid, but you really can't put out a "good" article without having the means to do so, and that isn't in place. In order to put out articles that have the consistency we would expect from any other journalistic purview, we'd have to have a journalistic entity willing to give its writers the tools other journalists have.
