Anyone who says EDH is not competitive is lying. The game is still about beating other people in a strategy and luck based card game. The game still ends when someone wins. People build decks with objectives in mind and they change the cards in the deck over time to get better at meeting those objectives. It's not a format with prizes on the line (yet), but it's still about competition.
Yes, we all play to have "fun." Guess what? In Legacy, I still play to have fun. Define fun.

While i agree with most of what you said, winning is aways important, players of commander are far more likely trade power for style.
