Weird questions for you weird guys. My local game store is firing off a triple onslaught draft this week and i want to have the best winning chances so that i can open extra booster packs and hopefully extra fetches. Does anyone have advices for the format (if anyone played at the time)

Weird questions for you weird guys. My local game store is firing off a triple onslaught draft this week and i want to have the best winning chances so that i can open extra booster packs and hopefully extra fetches. Does anyone have advices for the format (if anyone played at the time)

I would always to go either black or red back when I used to draft Onslaught. Black has tons of removal with Death Pulse, Infest, Swat, Smother, Cruel Revival and a bunch of clerics that can drain life / force discard while red has Solar Blast, Shock, [card]Slice and
Dice[/card] and a bunch of low cost goblins that have decent synergy together. You could always get super lucky and pull one of the bomb legends (Slyvos, Visara, Arcanis, etc) and just run with that.

Cruel revival seems awesome. The other removals are conditional but still removal, so they're fine. I really hope to open a bomb legend, or just open a couple fetches, lose all games and go home happy anyway

Most of the black removal seems highly conditional but keep in mind that you'll see a ton of 2 power, 3 CMC morph creatures during the draft which is what that removal is geared towards.

Community or State-level college? The community college here is actually surprisingly good for a community college, and they have like a literal eight campuses around the area.

As far as jobs go, Charlotte is growing rapidly, so finding a job shouldn't be a problem. I quit my job, took a month to kind of just sit around the house and collect myself, and put out like...five applications? All five called back, I'm starting my new job on the 9th.

If you're just looking for quick work that isn't glamorous, I know a few people who work for Red Ventures in Fort Mill, SC, (right over the
border from where I live) and they're hiring en masse. I'm not sure what for, but it might be worth looking into if you just need something fast.

I was at an anime convention, so only one game day, but got the mat anyway. I like it.

I think the guy with 7 shocklands got the better deal. Maybe not in the short term, but in a year or two, most definitely.

The guy I beat for 1st offered me two Stormbreath Dragon for the mat. I declined. /trollface

My thinking was that shocks were pretty much at the height of their level of play for the next year or so, and that people will really be trying to dump them in 4 months. Also, stuff I'll play>>>stuff that's nice to have.

He got $10 on the deal by Deckbox pricing, but I can see $15 shocks and $50 snaps in 2 years if neither are reprinted.

Short term he got the better deal, but if you're speculating, it's probably fine.
