Not sure I can, but the deck doesn't really appeal to me anyway.

Fair enough; if you're going to play the format long term you need to find a deck you like.

I 4-0'd a Modern "FNM" tonight with Heals' RDW list, beating UWR Twin, Zoo, Jund, and Hate Bears. This deck is perfect for me. Maindecking 4 Molten Rain should just be illegal.

I think I gained about 20 life against Zoo tonight. Oh the lolz.

Dammit, it's been all the rage in the RDW thread! :argh:

But spurn you, I shall not. Because you're my dawg, here ya go:

[deck]
Creatures 20
4 Vexing Devil
4 Mogg Fanatic
4 Goblin
Guide
4 Eidolon of the Great Revel
4 Grim Lavamancer

Spells 20
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Rift Bolt
4 Searing Blaze
4 Molten Rain
2 Forked Bolt
2 Shrine of Burning Rage

Land 20
1 Keldon Megaliths
11 Mountain
4 Arid Mesa
4 Scalding Tarn

Sideboard 15
2 Dragon's Claw
4 Pyrite Spellbomb
2 Dismember
2 Blood Moon
2 Relic of Progenitus
2 Smash to Smithereens
1 Shattering Spree
[/deck]

I played a 3/1 split on Lava Man and Figure of Density (misspelled on purpose). I also used every card tonight in the 75. I fucking love it.

Here's Heals' deck tech. It will explain everything you need to know.

2 Dismember
2 Dragon Claw
2 Smash to Smithereens
1 Shattering Spree[/deck]

This is the stock list. If you aren't worried about burn/red decks and want a better pod matchup, change the dragon claws to pillar of flames. I've also ran 1 figure of destiny over a grim lavamancer and was a fan of that change. Overall though, the deck is a work of art.

You sound like Val did, but LP and I managed to convince him.

Look, do it. Just trust me. This isn't Standard and it's not last year's Modern. Vexing Devil has a place and it's in this deck.

I wonder if something like this is playable:

4 Delver
4 Snapcaster
2 Clique

2 Shackles

Removal: bolt x 4, plus a mix burst lightning, pillar of flame and/or electrolyze
Counters: cryptic, remand, mana leak, spell snare

Add serum visions and 22 land.

I guess that's basically UR Faeries playing Shackles. It's unclear to me if that's good or not, but I like that you're not running cards with downside.

Yep, I'm not a Vexing Devil fan by any means, and it took a lot of reflection on my part, but this RDW shell is actually the perfect spot for him.

The only card I have real reservations about are the two Shrine; Megaliths and Fanatic are particularly clever re-inclusions.

Shrine of Burning Rage is amazing. Every good Modern deck has to be capable of snagging free wins from time to time. Shrine does this. For some decks, it's simply GG once it lands.
