Another Dead MTG Board

Initial thought is that it's slow but potentially very obnoxious if it gets rolling.Do you guys think Outlast is a viable mechanic outside of limited? It seems really cool but yea...
Yes, this feels exactly like a repeat of theros except for the fact that devotion is now replaced by 'clan mechanic x'Initial thought is that it's slow but potentially very obnoxious if it gets rolling.Do you guys think Outlast is a viable mechanic outside of limited? I'm kinda underwhelmed by the rest of the cards. Red seems particularly uninspired.
Keep trollin' trollin' trollin' trollin'and we all know zem left because FOS didn't worship him the way he wanted to be worshipped, shame on you all for not worshipping B-tier content on a B-tier site (CFB).
This is one of the clearest mana-base-building pieces of advice I'For manabase, decide how many of each color you want, start with one, then go to the next, then go to the next. Ex. say you're playing white based anafezna agro with soldier of the pantheon. You decide you want 17 white sources, 14 black, 12 green. You should choose your 17 white, prefereably 14 untapped sources, look at how many of these double as black sources, then add up to 14 black and so on. When the numbers don't gel, you can do a number of things from making your mana more painful/slow with confluences and tri-lands, "cheating' on colors where you're mana's greedy and more high variance(the Wescoe Gambit), or simply retool your deck to get the ratio's in line.
I absolutely fell in love with his Tricked Out WW deck (and played it extensively) during Alara/Zen block.LOOK AT ANY OF HIS DECKS! They always lean on the greedy side.
Yeah same. I just pre-ordered some Mardu cards, though. I know I want to play Rabblemaster and Stormbreath Dragon. The rest is up in the air, but I wouldn't mind having the Butcher card in my Rabblemaster deck.I have no clue what the hell I am going to play this Standard season. It will involve Rabblemaster though.

I'm all for it as it goes along with my game plan.Am I the only one
excited for Valley Dasher? He's definitely no Ashley, but c'mon! He's a 2/2 haste for [mana]1R[/mana]!
I happen to think that it is.Coordinated Assault playable in that type of shell?
Speaking my language. I was thinking some Mardu Midrange deck that was Heavy Red/BLack with a white splash in order to play butcher and Elspeth. Don't know which 1 or 2 drops I'd run in this shell but my curve would be Rabblemaster > Butcher >Yeah same. I just pre-ordered some Mardu cards, though. It's a good common, I will invest in a playset.Am I the only one excited for Valley Dasher? He's definitely no Ashley, but c'mon! He's a 2/2 haste for [mana]1R[/mana]!
It's fine if you have a Foundry Street Denizen shell. Otherwise it's bad.@SM - I don't think 3 mana for 3 1/1's is enough bang for my buck.
Yeah, but even then, it's like spending 3 mana to deal +3 damage if you have 1 Denizen out. 3 mana for +6 damage is cool, but it requires you to have 2 Denizens out for that. That just seems more like 'living the dream.'It's fine if you have a Foundry Street Denizen shell. Otherwise it's bad.@SM - I don't think 3 mana for 3 1/1's is enough bang for my buck.
I also noticed no Monastery Swiftspear. I'm assuming that's because we want to focus on creatures rather than non-creature spells?@SM - I don't think 3 mana for 3 1/1's is enough bang for my buck.
Yeah, I didn't think 13 instants would be enough to consistently and reliable buff the dude. I think if I dropped some of the other creatures and added more spells like Hammerhand, he'd be a good fit. I really just want a consistent deck than can spread out and take moderate chunks out of the life total. Like a mean pack of velociraptors.I also noticed no Monastery Swiftspear.@SM - I don't think 3 mana for 3 1/1's is enough bang for my buck.
Get out.I honestly think Todd Anderson made the best red deck that I've seen so far.
This I gotta see lolGet out.I honestly think Todd Anderson made the best red deck that I've seen so far.
