Anyone played Jeskai? My heart says to play it, but my mind says Temur or Mardu.

I played Smash Bros on the GameCube at a party but didn't know any of the controls, promptly got destroyed, didn't bother following up.

Val, I played Jeskai and it worked out fine (promo was Jeskai Ascendancy)
I did have a black splash for Ankle Shanker and Mardu Ascendancy which certainly helped

Did the cards start tripping youn out?
They did, but not in the way you think. I couldn't focus on the moment because my brain was sick on how they would have interacted in all the other games I've played in the past.

Just don't play Sultai because worst deck to make for a PR.

Seems fine, just really hard to get used to a deck with 12 ways to interact on the first two turns of the game being good.

The vast majority of sealed generator runs I've done with Jeskai have needed a small fourth color splash due to lack of power. That is my main concern. Some of them have even eschewed the clan altogether.

What do you think about
Despise in the side? It seems to be good for the amount of midrange decks theres probably going to be.

Despise is an excellent card and a fine way to attack the meta. I definitely considered it. Hiwever, much like MBC mirrors last season; there's going to be heaps of 1-for-1 trading and discard us bad in a top deck situation; I've emphasised top decks as much as possible to battle through that. Despise coukd replace read the bones in the board, but I like read more in midrangewars.format

4-2 on the back of triple Ponyback Brigade and double Trumpet Blast. Stomped over anything that had mana problems, died to Mardu decks that had better pool (meaning useful one drops and removal, which I lacked. Also got double smashed by our Khan). Should have just transformed into control there, the black 2/8 for five and Sidisi's Pet are immensely useful, as is the white 2/5 with Outlast.
Opened Sarkhan in prize packs, so that's fine with me.

Yes, I think the clan is a ton of fun when it works out but as far as raw power is concerned you're better off
picking something else

6 fetches; 7 basics. That's fine. By the time you're out of basics, that fetchland is a dead draw anyway.

I went 2-2 with Mardu today. No real bombs to speak of, so I went with a token them backed by removal and combat tricks. Hordeling Outburst was the standout star.
While the deck was kinda poor, I did walk away with three fetch-lands: Bloodstained Mire and two Polluted Delta. And I got a Clever Impersonator. So not a bad haul.

I wouldn't run fetches with just barely enough lands to fetch. You at least have an out in Urborg, but I don't think the potential for dead draws is worth it.
The Fetches Fuel dredge and when you have multiple coursers out, they form a pseudo lifegain engine.

by LP, of the Fires
Even with that being the case, if you look at Z's list, there's a non-trivial amount of filtering to avoid having dead draws.

by zemanjaski
I have more basics than fetches and multiple ways to bottom excess fetches; also Urborg. I doubt it's going to come up in this list, though in general I'd concur that many lists are a little greedy.
Sultai Ascendancy is the real deal.
I'll keep posting lists as they're tested and worthwhile.

Been enjoying your devotion list LP, but man do I need practice with the sequencing. Need to learn when each 2 drop should be played. If you have rabble and hammer in hand are you just always wanting to jam rabble? Also, I am wondering if we can cut nykthos down to two.
Also been testing your mono b aggro list, it's solid, but not sure I like it early on against all the expected rabble. Speaking of rabble, I wonder what variant is the best. I like Owens list with the hordeling outburst or a more heroic boss sligh style similar to Todd's. Hopefully I get some time to test.
Been playing a ur artifact deck that is a lot of fun and actually has game vs midrange. The version I ha was a bit soft to aggro but that can easily be remedied.
I need to test my big red list, I still think it has good game for states.

Thoughts on BBDs Mardu Midrange? It appeals to me very much, but I think the creature count is a bit low.
I preordered all the stuff I wanted from Khans today. Less than a hundred bucks. Pick up RG fetches when I can.
At the prerelease, between my pool and prize packs I got:
Windswept Heath
Foil Zurgo
2x Wingmate Roc
bloodsoaked champion
Surrak
Utter End
foil rattleclaw mystic
see the unwritten
foil master of pearls
savage knuckleblade
Pretty good haul.

Naya Walkers:
[deck]
Creatures
4 Sylvan Caryatid
3 Courser of Kruphix
2 Polukranos, World Eater
1 Stormbreath Dragon
Planeswalkers
2 Elspeth, Sun's Champion
2 Ajani, Mentor of Heroes
2 Sarkhan, The Dragon Speaker
2 Chandra, Pyromaster
3 Xenagos, The Reveler
Spells
4 End Hostilities
4 Banishing Light
4 Lightning Strike
2 Crater's Claws
Lands
3 Temple of Abandon
3 Temple of Plenty
3 Temple of Triumph
2 Battlefield Forge
2 Windswept Heath
3 Wooded Foothills
2 Mana Confluence
4 Forest
3 Mountain
1 Plains
Sideboard
4 Nyx Fleece Ram
2 Nylea's Disciple
3 Anger of the Gods
2 Deicide
2 Nissa, Worldwaker
2 Suspension Field[/deck]
It's more of a control build that's suppose to mirror Jund Walkers. I wanted to run 4
End Hostilities since I can board wipe without much consequence since Xenagos and Elspeth just pumps out more tokens. It's also the reason
why Nissa is in the side. Polukranos has synergy with Xenagos for Monstrocity if I need it. Crater is my Rakdos's Return replacement and works well also with Xenagos, Polukranos, and Sarkhan. The single Stormbreath is to counter the white removals that hit Sarkhan.
In the side, Anger will come out against the faster aggro decks while most of my creatures can survive it. Jund Walkers had a problem with aggro, but I feel Naya Walkers have it covered post sideboard.

Here's what I want to role with on Friday:
[deck] Mardu Midrange LD Tweak[/deck]
Heavily inspired by BBD's latest build, but with a few personal choices. Any suggestions to help clean up the manabase?

Yeah, Ascendancy is very good card filtering.
It's also mana advantage with Delve or card advantage with Courser of Kruphix.

I'm thinking that [card]Ajani's Pridemate[/card] is going to be fairly bonkers in the new format. Good interactions with
Soldier of the Pantheon,
Nyx-Fleece Ram,
Abzan Falconer, and
High Sentinels of Arashin.

I could've got them for 0,50€ first when my go-to place put them out for pre-order. Didn't order any, and 1-2 days later they didn't have any for sale and now they're five times as expensive...
