That's a pretty spicy meatball you've got there, LP.[deck]Talking about loli-pandering and red decks? Time to renter the conversation...
So what's everyone thinking? Redonedrop.dec with Zurgo or a more sledgehammery/devotion list? Personally, I'd love to start brewing the latter.
4 Zurgo Bellstriker
4 Dragon Whisperer
4 Ire Shaman
4 Eidolon of the Great Revel
4 Flamewake Phoenix
4 Fanatic of Mogis
4 Stormbreath Dragon
2 Purphoros, God of the Forge
3 Crater's Claws
3 Roast
4 Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx
20 Mountain
SB:
1 Roast
1 Chandra, Pyromaster
1 Outpost Siege
1 Magma Spray
4 Thunderbreak Regent
2 Hammer of Purphoros
2 Lightning Berserker
1 Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker
2 Anger of the Gods
[/deck]
What do you think of a black splash for Murderous Cut to clear away flying monstrosities, or is it just not needed at all?

Probably what I'll start with. List looks great and brutal.some nice week 0 garbage that beats all these durdle piles without tons of early game interaction.
[deck]the maindeck
critters
4 Zurgo Bellstriker
4 Monastery Swiftspear
4 Foundry-Street Denizen
3 Ire Shaman
2 Mardu Scout
4 Dragon Fodder
4 Hordeling Outburst
burn
4 Wild Slash
4 Lightning Strike
4 Atarka's Command
4 Stoke the Flames
lands
1 Temple of Abandon
4 Mana Confluence
4 Wooded Foothills
1 Forest
9 Mountain
Sideboard:
2 Goblin Heelcutter
2 Temple of Abandon
4 Searing Blood / Roast
3 Arc Lightning
4 Outpost Siege[/deck]
I know LP had this deck built and ready to go. Main diff. was I liked starting G1 with a low land count and just sucking up not being able to cast Command sometimes. Ire Shaman could be Eidolon or more Mardu Scout, but Ire Shaman is passable as a 2-drop and GREAT when you flood / transform board vs. removal heavy decks. Rabblemaster died to everything in the Mountain mirrors and couldn't take advantage of it nearly as much as Jeskai and friends. Arc Lightning / Searing Blood vs. Roast comes down to how heavily you want to board vs. tokens and red compared to catch-all against Forest decks.

Thanks to NerdBoyWonder for the amazing sig!
Son, I want you to know that no matter what happens between your mother and me, it's all your fault.

Just in case anybody has a change of heart: http://www.gofundme.com/pj2jg0

In a pinch, Khaos' beard can help turn this around.
I rarely skip a Khaospawn wall of text because I know there is always piss at the end of the rainbow.

Kaiji is Yu Gi Oh season 0 for adults. While that sounds stupid as fuck, that is a glowing review of Kaiji.
If you have not watched it (or the predecessor show, which escapes me right now), go watch it. Both series are great aside. Even the 3+ episode long "powering up" sequences about "is he gonna do the game good to win???" fluff is great.
Zen, watch Kaiji. Gain perspective. Feel good.

I'm wondering about something along these lines. Not-so-shamelessly inspired by LP's list above. I'm also substituting for things I don't own.
[deck]
Lands 24
12 Mountains
4 Bloodstained Mire
4 Swamps
2 Temple of Malice
2 Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx
Creatures 30
4 Zurgo Bellstriker
4 Dragon Whisperer
4 Ire Shaman
4 Eidolon of the Great Revel
4 Flamewake Phoenix
4 Fanatic of Mogis
2 Purphoros, God of the Forge
1 Thunderbreak Regent
2 Stormbreath Dragon
1 Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury
Spells 6
2 Crater's Claws
2 Roast
2 Murderous Cut
Sideboard
1 Roast
1 Chandra, Pyromaster
1 Outpost Siege
1 Magma Spray
1 Murderous Cut
3 Thunderbreak Regent
2 Hammer of Purphoros
2 Lightning Berserker
1 Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker
2 Anger of the Gods
[/deck]
I like the Cuts as instant-speed outs against things that Roast wouldn't be able to kill.

Khaos, I'll definitely support you. You guys have been so great helping me out, it's the least I can do in return. Just have to wait until Friday when I get paid.

Akagi. Which if you like Mahjong is watchable since that's all it is. But yeah, the first game of Kaiji being paper rock scissors sounds like a sick joke, but it's great how simple concepts end up being super tense and interesting game theory moments.Kaiji is Yu Gi Oh season 0 for adults. This weekend I learned that Mythics still poison limited. Thanks Rosewater.
Atarka is unbeatable and just back breaking on T5 after T4 Explosive Veg. I felt bad every time I did it.
Well, isn't that just a function of a sealed prerelease? I mean 75% of games in my prereleases devolved into "who can grab their bomb first".
Besides, I don't think most of the dragon lords are beatable anyways.

I'll never understand the appeal of a format where Opening bombs >>>>>>>> Tight play. This weekend I learned that Mythics still poison limited. Thanks Rosewater.

Because in one format the majority of players will never understand why they lost and it'll take them 25-30min to do so. Which is frustrating for most people. Try replaying formats on flashback drafts online when creatures were all dogshit and you interact with people who have never played these types of formats before. It's awkward.I'll never understand the appeal of a format where Opening bombs >>>>>>>> Tight play. This weekend I learned that Mythics still poison limited. Thanks Rosewater.

And let's be real, if you honestly think the majority of Sealed games were decided by 'who can grab their bomb first' at a PRERELEASE you're probably trash at Limited.

I was actually in a PPTQ top 8 with Tom Lapille and he was asking what percentage of rares should be good in a set for it to be a good limited environment. He was in the 45/50% category as otherwise the games would probably just get boring.
He had a point. If the power level is flat, then it's just an attrition nightmare. While you don't want to play against the guy with mono-bombs, it's important for interesting and smooth gameplay for decks to have splashy effects to break open games and to create tactical and strategic decisions regarding how you pace your cards.
Some cards are obnoxious yeah and that can't really be helped, but most of the time in sealed, you just have to be smart. Just watch LSV or Efro play limited ever.

You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.
Beatdown is hard, though.
