@Scumbag: Meh, I know you didn't try but ya did. The importance of janitorial services in today's society are often overlooked: some like shiny floors, others prefer something a little less polished. :-/
@ThrillhoBrainMaster: Now how to make Sene realize all you were saying was to ask questions?

I tried in all of the posts I made here but he forgot to bring his pepto bismol with him when he went online today and was afflicted with a terrible case of the tummy aches when people started posting Mean Bad Words towards him.

Srsly, though, that Google about Requiem and fohguilds I posted earlier is a fantastic read. I'm not much of a rumormonger but some of the crazy schemes they come up with over at rerolled.com are more than enough drama for anyone: I particularly like the one where the whole business is a front for an adbot army. Inspired, really.

I love how Sene comes here like he wants to discuss things, then ducks out when his BS gets turned on its head.

He wouldn't have to duck his head if he stopped trying to explain himself to the people who are not involved.

Like, the MTGS and Sene mindset are obviously not changeable, and its a mindset that is going to be disliked by most normal people, so why come and tell again and again why you do things the wrong and warped way.

Voltan should voice his opinion here too since he is the only other admin who has the balls* to discuss the potential issues with their current approach to moderation ITT.

*this is a compliment to both, no sarcasm implied

blackhound, your previous nickname of "minstrel show" has been redacted. it is currently being changed to "helga pataki."

thank you for summiting with the staff of mtgcommunity. we appreciate your continued service and patronage here.

It is good to see that you have come to your senses, frankly I am suprized that the people running this website have not been issued a lawsuit
yet. After all various members of this website have been involved/accused in the following over the past 6 months.

malicious attacks.
Death threats.
Doxing.
Hacking Salvation and placing a virus there.

I also hear that said people are a bunch of "cowards and scumbags".

I will also except my new nickname of helga pataki, admins, please change my custom title to helga pataki.

Thankyou for you time and Patience in understanding.

Yours sincerly.

Blackhound

In the old days Teia would no longer be a moderator. The days where the staff didn't actually love drama and summits and CI. You know, the stuff that makes them feel important and keeps them too 'busy' to improve the front page content, the banner, the articles, the forum content. Back when the site was a site and not a forum with a small door in the back that led to a dusty front page. When CI was for tech questions in the wrong spot and dumb ego-shrine helpdesks. The staff and the CI Warriors are a parasite and host in a symbiotic relationship. To rid themselves of CI would be suicide to the sloth monster that forbids progress and demands another drama bomb summit that will take months to conclude. The entire ordeal is one great orgy of self-flagellation and sadomasichistic behavior that the perverted staff absolutely loves. Starting fires so you can put them out, what a thrill. Back in the day, Teia would be given the old
Dear John letter which says 'Nothing personal, you did good flagging those little buttons (chimps have been taught to perform similar tasks) but no amount of great warning and infracting is worth the level of drama and hate you bring from the userbase.' But MTGS has ceded too much already and they are no longer doing anything which might admit wrongdoing or mistakes made. Removing Teia would be a victory for the CI Warriors and there is no way they will allow that. Booting Teia eliminates literally all drama that happened since the Leaks (again, literally) but Teia is a boy who is on the right team. And that's what matters.

hey Sene, who are our 2 guests ?
I dunno, but one of them is from the Seattle region. Possibly someone who is too scared of posting here.
Possibly because you scrape the IPs off of guests in a hostile fashion, just to try to make them post?
We mods (admins?) can see more
information about each user in their posts, just by opening up a little tab there. I wouldn't call that scraping IPs in a hostile fashion.

I'll try to quickly explain what's up, mmkay.

The reason why the thread was closed (I talked with Galspanic) was because it was a question that was answered. Had it not been full of vitriol and passive aggressiveness, having it as a thread discussing that rule might have been useful, but it was drowned under trolling and spamming. Borderline stuff that was previously deemed okay in CI isn't necessarily considered okay anymore. We're doing stuff differently in that regard. Heck, in August the site felt so much in the hands of the users that I somehow felt compelled to plea[/i:
18emgwer] to the users to stop being mean. So yeah, when CI threads are a mess of spamming/trolling/bullshit, then they are much more quickly closed now than in the past.

As for the RLA rules thing in particular, I expect we'll be talking about that... but in the Mod Lounge, sheltered from users who feel like making a drama storm over it. Had it been a reasonable discussion, CI would have been fine. But the policies we used to have in CI - they didn't work. We'd give up to people who yelling, and as expected, that meant they were yelling even louder next time. The users were too entitled. Now we're trying to make up for it by changing stuff for the better (in the making), make better & fairer rules, but also make it clear in CI that staff's in charge and won't be browbeaten into submission. That's going to be better for everyone, I think.

Didn't extremeicon try that?

This.

This.
But clearly, according to impartial sources, those times weren't so bad for the staff... :flame:

Like, we didn't at all have MikeyG burn out and Extremeicon get lynched by half the staff.

Could we get an update from Boubs?

Posted: Thu Jan 10, 2013 4:30 pm

An update would certainly be helpful.

I've got a bad feeling that Boubs decided that the cluster that would result amongst the staff from unbanning gutterites en masse isn't worth it, right now.

Hopefully I'm wrong, but he said the next step would be talking it over with the staff, and we know how the majority of them feel about that. Most of them don't even care to be on civil terms with me, these days, let alone the banned contingent.

If we can continue making progress on the front page, I'll probably care a hell of a lot less.
