Yes, absolutely. that little tribal list I wrote was just an answer to the "is it good in tribal?" question. It's definitely good in any aggro deck that can afford to run it regardless of any tribal synergies.

So stoked.

Mutavaults good in decks that clock people period. So much for being worried about reds playables.

Still want another solid one-drop.
C'mon Goblin Guide!
Or Figure of Destiny in Theros!

I would probably crap myself if they reprinted Goblin Guide.
EDIT: And thank God they're reprinting Mutavault. I really didn't feel like spending $100 for a playset.

Figure of Destiny is probably out of the question since they reprinted it in MM (but please reprint it please). Goblin Guide is like the best 1-drop in red right now people will riot if it gets reprinted.
Aside from one-drops, I want Ember Hauler for my two-drop please.

And the specialty stores couldnt get enough to fill their pre-orders...
Yeah, that wasn't really a problem here. The store I play at is a literal hole-in-the-wall and it has enough boxes to not only fill every preorder, but they're still stocked right now.
You have to remember, Magic might be more popular now than ever, but that doesn't mean that's true
everywhere. And besides, if you've ever dealt with specialty vendors before (work retail, you see them all the time. Coke and Pepsi have their own vendors, Frito Lay does too, etc.) those guys are pretty sloppy.

Looked over M14 spoiler, looks like we have options.
Goblin Diplomats(borderline)
Ogre Batteldriver(borderline playable)
Young Pyromancer(pseudo build around)
Chandra's Sphinxs(pseudo build around)
Goblin Shortcutter(low end playable, possible staple)
Molten Birth(question mark)
Shock(Staple)
Burning earth(sideboard staple/hoser).

Is turbo fog like...really well positioned right now? No strong control in the format means the only card you really care about is sire of insanity. I may have to do some brewing.

And Rakdos's Return.
Pray you don't come up against anyone running 4 of them...

I enjoy you calling out people on bullshit in a way far more elegant than I ever could!
Seriously, read the ban list discussion to lose all hope. You have LBS with his usual doomsaying, Bocephus, who won't make an argument beyond "Wizards makes this format, so whatever they do is right". Tombthumb, who makes such elegant statements as: "I don't care what you think". And a smattering of posters from shit (Nyzzah) to can actually reasonable (ktthhenix).
And I love it!

I agree with the OP. Why? Because paying two life for a simple discard spell is not really where you want to be. Have you guys ever played modern? If so, you usually know that you start the game already down to 15 due to shocks and fetches, and now, you could be down to 13 against any number of aggro decks. It's just based on principle. Think about it guys.....
Just about popped a blood vessel before I realized who this was.

Yeah don't over think it; Mutavault is very good even without tribal support.

I'll just leave this here.
Not confirmed yet, but if it is real...wow, holy crap. It legit seems too good to be real, though.
For those on mobile:
Chandra, Firebringer
1RR
Planeswalker - Chandra (Mythic)
-1 Put a 3/1 red Elemental creature token with haste and trample onto the battlefield. Sacrifice it at the beginning of the next end step.
-2 Destroy target land.
-0 Chandra, Flamebringer deals 1 damage to target creature or player.
3 loyalty.
The artwork wasn't done by Steve Argyle, either. Looks like Winona Nelson. (Sharpened Pitchfork, Ivy Lane Denizen, etc.) Wonder if it had anything to do with Steve's Liliana/Chandra shenanigans.

A bit late to the party, but,

Still not really feeling the set as a whole, but, I do enjoy a good reprint.

Sorry, but fake
One of the give-aways is it should read "Put a 3/1" in the first ability but just reads "Put 3/1"

Really hoping that Chandra has some good abilities. I desperately want to build a deck around her and Phoenix.

MaRo also said that Chandra would get access to a slice of the color pie that is typically non-red. Those abilities are all very red, so immediately suspicious.

That would be to broken to be real and I would proceed to burn the world to ash. Turn 1 arbor elf. Turn 2, stone rain you. Turn 3, make an elemental, play Chandra, stone rain you. You can choose to go elemental, then double stone rain on 3 as you see fit.

19 Mountain
4 Mutavault
In every deck I play for the next year I imagine.

Yup. The only thing that would be better would be ghitu encampment. Arguably.

I think that Chandra ability was posted in reddit somewhere. The card looks good, but most likely fake due to that missing "a". Unless somebody already got fired from WotC from that typo.
Azorius Charm my Mutavault? Doom Blade my Mutavault?

The worst part about a Mutavault reprint is that a few months ago, I sold all of my Mutavaults so that I would stop trying to play Merfolk. I only kept my full art one because I couldn't find a buyer willing to spend that much.
Now every time I see a local Legacy tournament, the "I should play Merfolk" voice will be in the back of my head again.

No FNM for me tonight since friends are asking to hangout. I just wish I had more friends here that are willing to play competitive magic. Most of them are turned off by the price barrier.
Also, anyone here own a 3DS?

So, playing
Pact of Negation with
Paradox Haze in play makes for potentially embarrassing game losses, apparently. ._.
Posted: Fri Jun 14, 2013 7:17 am

I believe Pact only triggers once since it says your next upkeep.
EDIT: Unless you meant that you played Pact in your first upkeep with only three available mana while being enchanted with Haze.
