[Variant] Junk Auras

[deck]Version 1[/deck]

[deck]Version 2[/deck]

[deck]Midrange[/deck]

[deck]We Love Doublestrike[/deck]

[deck]Sideboard[/deck]

Help me out :)

The goal is to maximize the resiliency of the creatures I drop. Indestructible Hexproof with regenerate and lifelink is the ideal solution. Feels very midrange-y though....

Help appreciated. If I go midrange-y... I'll probably run higher cost hexproofs and 4x Day of Judgment.

Would Grisly Salvage be good here to find my hexproofs?

Or should I run Version 2 which has resilient creatures?

Or should I run other creatures and Alpha Authority?

Help out :)

This is just a start, I'm trying to keep it competitive. :P

Seems to be too few creatures for the Varolz, the Scar-Striped and Loleth Troll decks IMO.

Mainly they were there to just regenerate.

Will follow this thread, as I'm trying to brew a similar deck.

I'm at work, so I'll keep things short, but I'll get back later.
- Varolz is a multiple-level trap.
- Forced adaptation is WAY too slow for your needs.
- The same probably goes for Indestructibility - 4 mana with no pump is not really good, you have at your disposal LolTroll which regenerates, 2 hexproof guys and a pseudo-hexproof Fiendslayer Paladin; Indestructibility helps you against non-targeting wrath effects (I'd rather keep my mana open for a Golgari Charm, maybe), but does nothing against sacrifice effects.
- Dark Favor can be good, but you'll still need your creature to have at least first strike or evasion by other means.
- Alpha Authority doesn't pump your dudes, is it really worth it?
- Troll Hide suffers the same evasion issue of Dark Favor.
- Fireshrieker is slow.
- Putrefy and the likes means that you want to interact with your
opponent, where usually you'll be just trying to stomp your opponent as quickly as you can, so they're probably just sideboard cards.

2 cents thrown :)

So, my girlfriend piloted the deck at the last Game Day.
She ended up losing only against me and to an Esper Control deck, but this isn't really unexpected.

[DECK]
Creatures
4x Avacyn's Pilgrim
4x Gladecover Scout
4x Witchstalker
4x Fiendslayer Paladin

Pants
4x Gift of Orzhova
4x Unflinching Courage
4x Ethereal Armor
2x Abundant Growth
3x Rancor

Tricks
4x Selesnya Charm
2x Ajani, Caller of the Pride

Lands
4x Overgrown Tomb
4x Temple Garden
4x Godless Shrine
1x Woodland Cemetery
2x Sunpetal Grove
3x Plains
3x Forest

Sideboard
4x Golgari Charm
2x Fog
2x Witchbane Orb
4x Oblivion Ring
3x Duress
[/DECK]

As said earlier, the deck performed well against non-competitive builds, but it just had to fold (multiple times, actually) against an Esper Control filled with Devour Flesh and Far // Away.
Also, it lacks answers to Terminus and Ratchet Bomb.

My goal was post rotation.

Looks pretty good though :)

Glad to hear it did well.

Sorry for the late reply, I had just forgotten the thread :)

Anyway, it's too early to talk about post-rotation stuff, I guess that 2 weeks ago was even earlier :P

The "shell" of the deck will survive, though, in the following cards:
Gladecover Scout
Witchstalker
Fiendslayer Paladin
Gift of Orzhova
Unflinching Courage
Ethereal Armor
Selesnya Charm
Ajani, Caller of the Pride

I'm not sure about what black can really give us except Golgari Charm, maybe cutting it altogether can be a wise choice.

I made the wise choice. Check out the other Junk thread I made I took Junk in a different direction.
