We were so damn close. We almost lynched ham, I had investigated imopen2, and was probably going to live through the night. In a logical game without unlynchable scum, we would have had 1 dead scum, 1 confiemed, 1-2 confirmed town and 1 mote confirmed in a pool of 7.

Stardust I know you said you're chalking it up as a win, but so am I :-p
:love2: I don't even track my wins/losses. Just saying I'm really happy with my performance and feel like we really should have won (assuming the rest of the town didn't just up and lynch me!). I pushed both you and Z to lynch and both of you were scum, so that's pretty sweet.

freedom! You had a guilty on imopen and chose not to come forward? Nice. :cool2:

he breadcrumbed it hard at the end, but only after Z was either at L-1 or already dead.

I gotta say I'm pretty happy with turning from scumspect #1 to the most confirmed townie in most players' eyes. I know my role had a lot to do with that, but I had a few good posts too.

Is there such a thing as a deus ex machina on mafia? We could have used that.

Plot twist: RedThirst secretly loves Kaitscralt and whenever he gets banned, RedThirst "rage quits" the site two days later.

Damn, what a weird game. I should have listened to my gut and kept after Iamopen2. I knew he was lying!

Great game.

If Zem was playing a serial killer; he did a good job.

RCW as scum was WAY to powerful.

Suga, don't feel bad. The game met its objective of being entertaining and fun.

Whoa, mafia mastermind over here. Good work in the QT, rcw. Your scumminess makes me proud.

Yeah, I felt like I got very good by the middle of Day 2. Suga, could you please keep this thread open for a bit? I wrote up about a page of notes and decision trees based on possible outcomes Tuesday during Calculus, and would like to post them and get some feedback when I get home, just so that I can get some input on where I was right and where I was wrong.

Suga, don't feel bad about this game. Please don't, and I can't stress that enough. You created a game of unique characters and ran with it, and that is not something you should feel ashamed of; instead of relying on checked-and-double-checked, hand-wringing gimmicks to make sure everything is 'fair' at the cost of 'fun', you wrote something that was really astounding to read along with. That, in the world of Mafia, is a rarity, let me tell you; I had more popcorn moments in this game than I have in a long, long time. Jesus I laughed so hard at Rezzy's "????" flip and the reaction to it I almost lost bodily function.

Wish I had more time to read up, maybe I'll try to provide a little outsider insight later.

I considered it when G_R started talking about it, but then I thought about how much better off we'd be if I lived through the night. I tried to prove that there was a cop though raspy 's Miller claim so that we could discuss strategy for the cop and I could get some play tips without claiming. Also, it helped to draw the cop smell away from me.

Do most games have 19-page Days? Because I'm not sure I want to do this much more often if I have to come back to 4 new pages every day for a week. I got into a routine of rarely doing rereads because I rarely had time to do anything more than a read for content, and in my inexperience was unable to get good reads from just that.

Raspy, you played very well. You got us to think you could be scum, to become confiemed town, where you could help scum undetected.

Day 1 can be quite long. It's occasionally short (see Kaze's Newbie Mafia), but most often targets shift, claims are extracted, and a lynch is finally decided after some enough information has finally come into the thread. That can take a while. Future Days (2 and onward) are always shorter. I'd guess 5 or 6 pages on average?

The length might be partially my fault. I like to talk a lot and I also tend to change my
reads a lot.

It can be shorter or much longer depending on the amount of players. If you enjoy mafia but need something a bit less cumbersome, I suggest sticking with games with around nine players.

Well, looks like I'm next.

I've been talking with zemanjaski about this game over PM and he tells me that he targeted rezmo with his kill Night 1. I jailed Z, but he never got a PM letting him know that his ability failed. He assumed the mafia nightkill had been blocked somehow instead (since rezmo did die), which greatly impacted his understanding of what went down overnight. Not bringing this up to bitch about it since I did have fun this game, but Suga, if you're modding in the future, you've got to be really on the ball with Night actions. If Z had been town and claimed to have not been blocked overnight, it would have caused me to claim my role and get Z lynched for lying, which obviously impacts the game in a big way.
