In the Buffy the Vampire Slayer universe, there's an unwritten law that the calmest day of the year is Halloween; it's explained as simply being too easy and expected for the diabolical forces to really take advantage of, since it's the one day out of the year when the normal people aren't going to get freaked out by all the freaking-out stuff the demons are doing. Crossing my fingers that Sally takes their script from that subtle implication.
