[deck]
4 Akroan Crusader
4 Firedrinker Satyr
4 Foundry Street Denizen
4 Monastery Swiftspear
4 Satyr Hoplite
2 Frenzied Goblin

4 Titan's Strength
4 Hammerhand
4 Stoke the Flames
4 Collateral Damage
2 Coordinated Assault
2 Dragon Mantle

10 Mountain
4 Wooded Foothills
4 Bloodstained Mire
[/deck]

[deck]
4 Eidolon of the Great Revel
4 Searing Blood
3 Mardu Scout
3 Wild Slash
1 Mountain
[/deck]

Went 5-2 at my last PTQ, losing a game 3 of a match where I simply played too greedy instead of holding up mana for Collateral Damage to save my Akroan Crusaders from Bile Blight. This deck largely remains unchanged every new set, but Collateral Damage is just huge. More reach, saves duplicates from Bile Blight, makes Drown in Sorrow hurt a little less. I think this only needs a little more work to take down a big event, and I've been working on some changes all week in preparation for SCG Regionals.

Currently testing with these changes, for added reach; -2 Dragon Mantle, -2 Satyr Hoplite, +4 Lightning Strike. Dragon Mantle doesn't seem so hot lately, from my personal experiences with the card. Satry Hoplite is also just the weakest creature in the deck.

I'm also trying to tune the Sideboard some. EotgR performed, as it always has. Searing Blood and Wild Slash were crucial in Aggro mirrors. Mardu Scout seemed alright, but I didn't get him in my hand often enough to come to a solid conclusion. There was a game I remember where I had a FSD out and simply dashed a Scout every turn until he removed one of them.

My local pool of testing partners isn't too bad, but none of them have any experience playing Red at all. Need help with possible deck changes, sideboarding guides, stuff like that. Even minor suggestions that provoke thought and discussion about particular lines of play. Anything to improve my chances of Top 8'ing tomorrow.

I might have to give this deck a try.

The original list and SB Guide were on SCG Premium so I@ve reposted here for anyone who doesn't have access :)

The MD is pretty much perfect. I'm VERY happy with Outpost personally though there is an arguement for Chandra > Outpost. As far as the SB goes I've yet to draw Purphoros and I can see an arguement for him being a 3rd Sarkhan, Peak Eruption, Sands or Strike depending on how the meta develops.

Encouraging. I'm thinking my LGS might be the perfect meta for this deck. Lot's of control.

Same here. I think the meta in general is perfect for the red aggro. Too much durdling going on.

I'm still running RDW (Tom Ross MD from his last SCG article) on MTGO. the deck is very strong and gets even better with Berserker, Zurgo, Roast and the new Dragon I've forgotten the name of :D

With recent success of mono red as well as printing quite a lot of good cards for red (Zurgo, Dragon Fodder, Roast, 4 mana dragon, firebreathing dasher, mythick formidable 2 drop) as well as plenty of decent burn spells acting as a removal + awsome card advantage, I feel like this deck should be better positioned as an agressive deck than rw/jeskai or mardu.

Now is a question - what is a best build?

I would like an answer for that question as well ;-) - though I won't be looking into it until the next set gets released on MODO.

Tom Ross list is what I've been on for the last month. Deck is consistent as always and good to see all the new cards we'll get to mess around with.

Damn man, I've been really missing your vids! Hope you're doing well.

Anyway:
I'm really wondering if you can put eidolon and thunderbreak reagent into a mono red list and ride them to relative victory.
Guys they have to kill in a deck full of guys they have to kill + burn. Just my initial thoughts.
Its an actually lot of really obvious "USE ME!!!" cards in there. Dragon whisperer... Lightning berserker. Maybe even commune with lava. Its a real glut of things to sort through, and I'm looking forward to it. :toot:

My thoughts on using a standard aggro curve of 12/8/4/4

[deck]RDW Building Block[/deck]

Massive testing needed of course.

Thoughts:
zurgo and lightning for aggro pressure
3 Whisperer for adding to two slot. The upsides seems worth trying
3 rabblemaster - cut one as the deck has dragons.
2 thunderbreak regent - a 4/4 flier for 4 in color seems an amazing way to finish
2/1 split of Searing Blood & Roar - would want to see if the 3 damage is more useful than the 2, and if the second half triggers enough
3 stoke - cut one due to dragon fodder
3 dragon fodder - 1 less guy 1 turn earlier and lowers curve
3 wild slash - possibly swap to roast if needing to clear the way

I've been playing RDW on MTGO for a couple of months now. This is my current 75. The MD is exactly the same as Tom Ross last posted on SCG and I'm in agreement with Primal Burn that the deck is crazy consistent. It is by far the best RDW build I've played so far this season.

[deck]Tom Ross RDW[/deck]
Monsters (20)
4 Firedrinker Satyr
4 Foundry Street Denizen
4 Monastery Swiftspear
4 Mardu Scout
4 Goblin Rabblemaster

Burn (16)
4 Wild Slash
4 Searing Blood
4 Lightning Strike
4 Stoke the Flames

Spells (4)
4 Hordling Outburst

Land (20)
20 Mountain

Sideboard (15)
4 Eidolon of Awesome Wonderfulness
3 Arc Lightning
2 Scouring Sands
2 Peak Eruption
2 Goblin Heelcutter
2 Bathe In Dragonfire
[/deck]

The MD is pretty much perfect. It's incredibly consistent and I've beaten every major archetype with it on MTGO. The SB has room for improvement depending on the meta - I've mainly swapped out Searing for Eidolon Vs Control, FDS for a combination of Arc, Peak, Sands Vs decks with Burn and tokens and Rabble/Outburst for Heelcutter and Bathe Vs Abzhan and G as it works and keeps the balance of the deck the same.

Looking forward I'm going to start testing with this

[deck]LaZerBurn RDW[/deck]
Monsters (21)
4 Firedrinker Satyr
4 Foundry Street Denizen
3 Monastery Swiftspear
2 Zurgo Bellstriker
2 Lightning Berserker
3 Mardu Scout
3 Goblin Rabblemaster

Burn (16)
4 Wild Slash
4 Searing Blood
4 Lightning Strike
4 Stoke the Flames

Spells (3)
3 Hordling Outburst

Land (20)
20 Mountain

Sideboard (15)
4 Eidolon of Awesome Wonderfulness
4 Roast
2 Arc Lightning
2 Peak Eruption
1 Scouring Sands
2 Thunderbreak Regent
[/deck]

I expect the MD numbers to be tweaked slightly. Cutting FDS (or moving him to the SB) is a possibility if we see more RDW (which I expect, especially on MTGO - it's already the most popular deck with Abzhan Control) and less Caryatid. I'll probably test Dragon Fodder over Hordling Outburst at some point. Ire Shaman is also worth keeping in mind and I like Twin Bolt too :) And Rending Volley and Lose Calm and Magmatic Chasm :)

The SB is a rough starting point.

Feedback is VERY welcome as always.

Also - hey Pedros! Good to 'see' you :D

I'm excited about magmatic chasm as well. Seismic stomp won me so many games I had no business winning.

I was always zooming, however I didnt post much.
I have similar thoughts as you do, however I dont know if I would like to have so many x/1 creatures, especially now when there is so many tokens (and the printed more).
