I just heard from my LGS that the store holds the biggest FNMs on average in California since Khans release. We get 60 people on average for Standard and 30 for Modern, but I didn't expect us to actually be that big.

I normally pile shuffle in piles of 7, followed by regular shuffling. If weird mojo is going on I pile shuffle in different numbers, but it still happened.

The actual rioting is happening in Ferguson I believe. It's mostly large peaceful protests/marches in other major cities.

What I find interesting is the racial line the issue is drawing online. The difference in opinion between most white people vs all other minorities is overwhelming.

Abzan Midrange is the safe bet, but if control becomes more and more popular, it won't do as well. I personally like the aggro variant.
