I've never posted one of my EDH lists. Though I love discussing strategy and card choices, it's just not a format where I really feel the need to perfect my decks. Spending an hour typing out cards is something that I'd rather avoid when I wouldn't get much out of it anyway.

Besides, my decks' average life expectancy is only two or three months, so... you know. I guess you might convince me to post up Ashling. She's been around for years. Though you can basically guess my list based on everything I posted in freedom's Ashling thread.

There are similar types of poems to haikus, but the only different way of writing a haiku that I know of is to use mora instead of syllables (one mora being more like a single sound rather than a full "beat", meaning that a single syllable often is made up of multiple morae).

It's not too hard to get to 4096 once you realise that every row can be used in the same way as your base row. I've done it a dozen times. I keep telling myself that once I get to 8192 that I'll quit. Sometimes I wonder if I really will. Then I stop thinking altogether and restart the game.

I am. That game is maddening, especially since (I think it was Jack) one guy said the goal is to make the 2048 block with the lowest score you could. I got somewhere around a flat 20k and I was really happy.

My other goal is to make a 4096 block. I haven't gotten there yet. Highest score for me is 34k.

My wife is now addicted to this game. In showing her my strategy I got so close to that 4096! My high score is 36-something.

I think we're talking about something different? I was speaking about Mogis Warhound in particular: 2/2 for 1R bestow of 2R. This same concept has also seen high level play in Herald of Torment and
fringe play in spiteful returned.

Yeah, okay, 3 for a 2/2 then. Bestow saves you the 2-for-1, but it's still a big loss. That's all I was trying to say.

For what it's worth, if you give this guy some sort of firebreathing affect and he goes unblocked, you can deal 1 damage, reveal, see if you want to cast the card(say you reveal a lightning strike and have for mana available) and then elect to pump twice.

There are...layers.

This, to me, exemplifies why he's bad with firebreathing in particular. You have four mana available, but rather than pump him to hit for an extra 8 damage, you opt to draw two burn spells and Lightning Strike your opponent for 6. Maybe he'll see some play, but it's not going to be with Dragon Mantle.

That's why I've been harping on Bestow. Then it's at least not a 2 for 1.

That's fair, but then I don't really understand why you're even playing a 2/3 for 3, you know? You're making maximum use of your mana and of what cards you've already got... Drawing more cards ends up reducing the power of every card you've already played if you're running like that. Not saying card draw is going to be bad for a deck like that, but it's definitely not synergy.

Then again, maybe I should be looking at this guy as a strictly better Two-Headed Cerberus instead of trying to maximize his card draw use. Even tapping out, but hitting your land drop for the turn off of him is good value.

Firebreathing goes against what this guy's trying to do too. Do you tap out for max damage and lose the cards? Doublestrike is obviously powerful, but when you need to pump this guy for damage and clear blockers and still keep mana open to make good use of his ability, that's just asking too much. He's too fragile to be putting all your eggs in one basket like that.

In this case, it was wrongly applied, but it's not a terrible thing to say about Shock vs. Lightning Bolt (despite not being technically true thanks to Mindslaver).

It's strictly better because someone casting Twiddle on this version won't hurt you. So, yeah, it's basically a functional reprint, but technically strictly better because it doesn't have that extremely insignificant downside.
