There was a DE where the last opponent (Blue Devo) who kept telling me my deck sucks, and he lost to modo and not me. Other than that, I haven't came across any notable bitching opponents.

Yeah, I think Mortars are good idea against Spectre. You don't really want them to hit you and score some card advantage (Something akin Chandra's 0). Having them play out some Rakdos Cackler will be insult to injury.

DD is too situational to be good. It is good when the opponent is running low on body count, but there are at least 3 decks that promotes swarm tactics (Green Devo, Blue Devo and Red Devo).

Also, landing Assemble the Legion just makes your opponent wish it is other flier instead.
