Like you said, there's a number of things that just don't seem to do much aside from activate Krond (spirit mantle, savage hunger, trollhide, savage silhouette), and a bunch of things that don't seem to do much at all (celestial ancient, dreampod druid, aura gnarlid, quiet disrepair). In the interim...

Is 1/4 of the deck too much ramp? Even if you are making this deck to rumble with the best of them... that seems like way too much. (Admittedly, your general does cost 7... but still) CC of eight, in fact. I wrote a treatise in the other Maelstrom thread on it being very hard to over-ramp in this f...

I've never seen a mono-white deck do anything reasonably good in EDH before - there's just so few sources of card advantage available, and aggro-weenies are no good. If you do decide to run Stax, though, do Possessed Portal. Probably the most unfair stax lockout ever - you can't use card draw to squ...

*pops back into thread, looks around, frowns* At this juncture I still believe that the facts that the leak warned me were true, and I would wish to firstly thank you again for your honesty, whoever you are. Did some digging around to see if I could come up with anything constructive and not end on such a critical note. The approach I'd recommend is finding as much good, cheap equipment that provides a minimum of a +4 to your front end. That way, a Plague Stinger or an Inkmoth Nexus or whatever the case...
Needs more evasion/breakthrough potential. I've toyed with infect in standard before, and the biggest problem is that your guys can't win combat with anything. So, they die, or you waste pump spells making them not die, and run out of gas and lose. Card advantage is also a problematic issue. Like, t...

Well, I never expected to see Imperial Seal and Jar of Eyeballs appear in the same decklist together. $700...whew. What you're suggesting is a very, very different way of doing things than we've done for probably the better part of the past year. Indeed. Perhaps I should remind you that one of the reasons we've gone to this 'democratic voting' method is because the upper staff decided, without the lower staff, ...

I can think of three... It really doesn't go the way that some irrelevant local mod with an ignorant opinion sways the whole process for a decision. It does come down to reasoned arguments. The random guy that just says yes or no without a good reason doesn't really get heard much or they are easil...

In terms of what next practical steps to take forward, to resolve the appeals issue, it seems like we have to decide the ideal venue and participants. The constraints we seem to be working under are: 1. The unwillingness of some staff members to hold the discussion in place where they feel vulnerabl...

Some of these are decent points. But there's also the reason we actually make it democratic: having a number of minds on the situation gives us multiple viewpoints and helps to ensure that we're getting it right. There's five admins. If we are the ones dealing with the unbannings, not only is it go...

I think admin's current approach to lower staff putting you in a fairly awkward and impractical position. Democracy, input, dialogue, back-and-forth - all of these are good things, from an idealistic stand point and a practical one. Giving lower staff a voice in the site's affairs, is a good thing b...

I've said it once and I've said it again. There should be no solutions, summits, etc. If they are going to unban us then they need to unban us. It's the fastest way for them to see if we meet their reforms/protocol and give us another chance on the site. It might happen, but the odds aren't good. L...

:/ I don't think Gals and Nai are cowards. But they don't seem to be gluttons for punishment, either. If you guys call down for a minute, I don't think you'll find TCM is being unreasonable here, at all. If you're a mod on a forum, you don't punish people for behavior that took place elsewhere, but ...

My read on the staff right now is that aside from the people who just never got along with the gutter, there's a lot of them who are just plain psychologically traumatized by how badly things have gone for them lately. And they're afraid that if the gutterites come back, you'll continue mind-raping ...

Deep breaths, guys? Suspension Evasion The penalty for evading one's suspension has been reduced from a ban to a one-week extension to the previous suspension for first-time offenders, and a ban for repeat evaders. The reason for this change is that we would like to avoid having to ban users who are...

Maelstrom Wanderer - SMAAAAASH
 this deck, one of my more recent builds. The cascade off Maelstrom Wanderer is ridiculously good/fun, even without the library manipulation, and the "Fervor" effect is just a complete beating. Worst case scenario is usually that you wind up ramping yourself into the next one or two ...

An update would certainly be helpful. I've got a bad feeling that Boubs decided that the cluster that would result amongst the staff from unbanning gutterites en masse isn't worth it, right now. Hopefully I'm wrong, but he said the next step would be talking it over with the staff, and we know how t...

I'll try to quickly explain what's up, mmkay. The reason why the thread was closed (I talked with Galspanic) was because it was a question that was answered. @Azrael: Yes, I too seek compassion in my dealings with other people, and it does me well. The problem with that strategy when applied to a business model, however, is that there is no central figurehead, no one person who can speak for the group. The problem then becomes a dichotomy: remove the au...

I don't believe in those sort of coincidences... *nods* And that's hardly a solitary example. There have been good mods all over the forum who were able to defuse, quell, or altogether prevent drama on their watches, while others caused repeated incidents in the same subs. Same people, but differen...
