@Windstrider : I see, you are a grammar nazi  . Just kidding. There are so many X/3s and X/1s that the two damage feels kind of weird. I haven't played shocks with YP yet, so maybe it is great with her? How do I quote here. That is much harder than on mtgs. Lost my post and everyone else said...

I suppose the main argument I can see for anger isn't so much surviving, because you can but, post board, you have 4-5 less creatures than the traditional pyro builds so you don't quite have the creature volume to close the game if you're 1 for 1'ing all their cards to stablize. The deck doesn't run...

In general, shock is a powerful card in this deck because of how it meshs with Young Pyromancer and Chandra's Phoenix and the amount of things it kills right now. You will board it out against some decks but game 1, you should have at least 3.

Depends if you can safely kill your opponent around it. Typically you want to kill it on sight on an empty board.

Well, I did certainly just need them against the BTE builds. Turn 2 cackler, 2 bte, FFS. He put up a good fight afterwards. 3 seems the right amount with the amount of scry we have because late game, it is going to be a dead card since you should have your own board established. I do want to run som...

Unless it's availability issues, you'll be more comfortable swapping the shrines to 2 more temples. The scry is actually important since you're basically playing a combo deck and the tapped portion isn't relevant. I would drop two sb FotF for a couple spark troopers. It's surprisingly relevant and h...

I'm trading for a playset of Anger of the Gods but want to say it's an unnecessary crutch for the deck. Anyone else cutting them yet? I don't like Guttersnipe costing 3. I'm still stubborn and don't like playing these kind of cards without getting some potential value out of them same turn. YP --> d...

Pyromancers Gaunlet? As much as I wanted it to work, it's probably too slow, particularly with these 21 land builds. Sideboard...maybe. The deck really wants to be non-interactive and fast. It can't clock as fast as one drop versions but it's harder to stop. @Z and Aodh: Yep, getting why the scry l...

Don't do the plains. You want the narrow chance of casting Toil or even both together because sometimes Trouble is the bad part of the spell. W/B or R/B dual of some type or drop Toil // Trouble altogether.

So far with the 8 temples, 21 lands is working. Go fig.

What I mean is Temple of Silence's scry better than either Blood Crypt or Godless Shrine's shock? I suppose it's what let's the list try and get away with 21 lands. I think that if you cut Toil, you lose the option of actually being a burn deck. Test it before you cut it. With 33 2 CMC or less spells and BTE helping out, 21 lands mainboard really isn't the issue. It's his postboard when he slams in the rest of his 3-4 cost spells that's more problematic. I would cut something in his side for an extra mutavault there to make the rest smoother. That or cut as many of t...

I like it because it's much harder to interact with in the meta than Assemble or Stormbreath. It's an answer in two turns or lose card. Play with it though and see how you feel about it. I don't like the 4 chained mainboard or the limited number of mountains and/or red sources as a whole. And I agree a couple Chandra would be better but I'm pretty sure the idea is that mainboard, you can use the lifegain to finish an "aggro" race and/or fuel paying the life for toil. I'm n...

If we get a bit more useful burn, Gauntlet shenanigans could swerve the deck into a weird transformation direction similar to what MDU tried with Fanatic of Mogis. The burn has to be useful enough independently of Gauntlet first though.

I just realized I want Thunderbolt to be legal. Huh.

Pyromancer's Gauntlet plus extra burn isn't quite as good as 8 1 drops in your 75.

If you have enough burn, it typically ends a game in about 2-3 turns but there's only so many cards to fit in.

Also, it is just too slow versus the big boros and U matchups that MDU is worried about.

My point is that nighthowler is a sometimes giant vanilla dude, sometimes inefficient bear, who doesn't actually do much against a control deck. Against a control deck game 2, are your really going to have enough creatures to make Nighthowler relevant? We're talking about decks with heaps of instant speed removal.
