@Windstrider : I see, you are a grammar nazi  . Just kidding. There are so many X/3s and X/1s that the two damage feels kind of weird. I haven't played shocks with YP yet, so maybe it is great with her? How do I quote here. That is much harder than on mtgs. Lost my post and everyone else said...

I suppose the main argument I can see for anger isn't so much surviving, because you can but, post board, you have 4-5 less creatures than the traditional pyro builds so you don't quite have the creature volume to close the game if you're 1 for 1'ing all their cards to stablize. The deck doesn't run...

Well, I did certainly just need them against the BTE builds. Turn 2 cackler, 2 bte, FFS. He put up a good fight afterwards. 3 seems the right amount with the amount of scry we have because late game, it is going to be a dead card since you should have your own board established. I do want to run som...

Unless it's availability issues, you'll be more comfortable swapping the shrines to 2 more temples. The scry is actually important since you're basically playing a combo deck and the tapped portion isn't relevant. I would drop two sb FotF for a couple spark troopers. It's surprisingly relevant and h...

I'm trading for a playset of Anger of the Gods but want to say it's an unnecessary crutch for the deck. Anyone else cutting them yet? I don't like Guttersnipe costing 3. I'm still stubborn and don't like playing these kind of cards without getting some potential value out of them same turn. YP --> d...

Pyromancers Gaunlet? As much as I wanted it to work, it's probably too slow, particularly with these 21 land builds. Sideboard...maybe. The deck really wants to be non-interactive and fast. It can't clock as fast as one drop versions but it's harder to stop. @Z and Aodh: Yep, getting why the scry l...

What I mean is Temple of Silence's scry better than either Blood Crypt or Godless Shrine's shock? I suppose it's what let's the list try and get away with 21 lands. I'm screwing around goldfishing it now. Cackler seemed to be a weird choice. The whole deck tries to get around common answers and then...

I think that if you cut Toil, you lose the option of actually being a burn deck. Test it before you cut it. I'm not a huge fan of the spark troopers but I know they're there for the potential to turn boros charm into more lifegain. Guys, this might actually be the wrong deck for Chandra. Her +1 is q...

Great data, ill have a look through it. Great work on your results! Can you tell me a bit more about Toil // Trouble? It seems ok, not amazing. What am I missing? With 33 2 CMC or less spells and BTE helping out, 21 lands mainboard really isn't the issue. It's his postboard when he slams in the rest of his 3-4 cost spells that's more problematic. I would cut something in his side for an extra mutavault there to make the rest smoother. That or cut as many of t...

I like it because it's much harder to interact with in the meta than Assemble or Stormbreath. It's an answer in two turns or lose card. Play with it though and see how you feel about it. That said, as a one of, it's only relevant when I draw it. My only worry is about exiling it with Chandra on 23 l...

And toil // trouble for me. It's the cheap cards I always have the biggest trouble getting quickly. It's a solid 4-6 damage early which gets the race going so I am tempted to try testing the 4th. I really want to mainboard Chandra but she can be fragile since you aren't clogging the board and someti...

Ground through some tests last night and apparently just burning out mono U and trying as much as possible not to kill much else than Nightveil and Judge's familiar (preferably with shock) is the best bet. I ended up cutting both spark troopers to have it be a 4th helix and a rod of ruin . It's the ...

Ok, I don't think this needs the w/b land but I do feel like it needs the extra land with all the 4 drops in sideboard. Honestly, it could use the 3rd vault sideboard with the amount of 4 drops that want to push in. I'm going to be ballsy and drop another mountain for a 2nd mainboard mutavault. The ...

I'm assuming that's the idea from the original build that used it. I think the life gain cards are supposed to offset it as well. The original sideboard had 4 spark troopers to bring in as well 4 chained to pull out. I'm not great at planning space in my sideboards so keep that in mind. -2 chained, ...

What are your opinions on Boros Burn I posted? Might be really good vs big boros, mono U as those deck dont play lifegain. I've been playing a more burn heavy varient of Pyromancer build and was shifting over to creatures (if my trade in the mail with 1 drops hadn't been stuck since 10/30). I had s...

If we get a bit more useful burn, Gauntlet shenanigans could swerve the deck into a weird transformation direction similar to what MDU tried with Fanatic of Mogis. The burn has to be useful enough independently of Gauntlet first though.
I just realized I want Thunderbolt to be legal. Huh.

I don't feel the need to change my 60, but my sideboards need work. I'm going to do away with my conditional finishers Act of Treason and Fanatic of Mogis and opt for an additional Skullcrack and Last breath to complement my Rod - all that left is to decide on a non-conditional finishers: choices a...

My point is that nighthowler is a sometimes giant vanilla dude, sometimes inefficient bear, who doesn't actually do much against a control deck. The stars have to align for him to be useful, whereas cards like Skullcrack, Hammer, etc. fill a specific roll in the deck. SB cards should significantly ...

Against a control deck game 2, are your really going to have enough creatures to make Nighthowler relevant? We're talking about decks with heaps of instant speed removal. They have far fewer answers to Hammer than to Nighthowler. You also don't want or need 11 black sources. Especially if Nighthowl...

Question for those on the Emily plan: On average, how many activations of Firefist Striker's falter ability do you usually see or want to see? Against what deck(s)? You probably only need it 1-2 times versus black to kill them, blue a few more, and vs red not at all unless they're running reckoner ...

I'd only bring in Fanatic of Mogis vs. mono U devotion. It should never hit for more than 4 or so vs. control if they've drawn decently He actually brings it in vs the red decks too since the board can stall out after the initial wave of burn spells flying around. He can afford to play defense for ...

This is precisely why I don't like writing primers anymore, people take my thoughts as absolutes and apply them too rigidly. Playing the YP turn 2 vs. Esper should obviously be the correct play. Adding 2 to your clock now in unarguably better than waiting to try and make a 1/1 later. I still think ...
