Unsure. Is Red Devo dead now? I'm having a really hard time beating control decks right now. Seems the D Sphere and counter spells are just shitting on me. I try my best not to over-extend, but with so much damn removal and counterspells I just can't seem to get a board presence. I'm seriously consi...

I see. Sounds good. Next question. Has the time come for Five-Alarm Fire to make its debut? It adds 2 devotion, and can get counters from Reckoner, Purphoros, Fanatic, and Stormbreaths Monstrosity. On paper, it looks like it will be a 3cc Lava Axe that gives devotion. Edit: NEVERMIND I am a retard.

What does everyone think of Fated Conflagration vs Mizzium Mortars ? They fulfill a similar role. FC hits more things, and is Instant speed, whereas MM can be Overloaded. I was thinking later today that FC may just be better for us, given that it lets Ash Zealot trade with nearly everything, and you...

These are excellent articles, wraith. I appreciate the different outlook you have on these items. I'm curious as to your thoughts on the Pardner Pump Protector shotgun. Finally got my internet working again. Living in the middle of no where blows. Anyways, just wanted to chime in and mention that I took 2nd place at my Gameday with Rb Devotion. Lost in the finals to RG monsters. I only had around 90 seconds to put the deck together at the store since I was running ...

One of the cameras is actually missing completely, so they may have just wanted the camera for whatever reason. I live out in the country, but at the dead end of my street there are a couple known meth heads who live in trailer homes. I suspect it may be them, and if not them, then some of the trail...

Sounds fun, but have you considered Fog? Also, if someone destroys one of your Gates, you lose a win condition(Peak Eruption). You may consider adding another Guildgate or 2. Courser of Kruphix isn't a Defender, but it helps the Mazes End plan.

Question:

Br Aggro. Do I go with 3 Exava, or 4 Desecration Demon? Just in general. If it's matchup specific, would it be intelligent to just sideboard the DD's for matchups where Exava fails?

So around 9 hours ago, I heard a noise outside my house. I grabbed my Glock 17, and walked outside, immediately noticing that one of our properties security cameras had been ripped off the mount. I racked the slide on the Glock, and walked to the front of the house, seeing another damaged camera. I ...

Favorite win of the night: Against mono blue, turn 1 Cackler. Turn 2 swing 2. Turn 3 Fanatic of Mogis for 10. Feels like some steps were left out here. Yeah, I was tired last night. His life total is written as: 20 18 This is either 8 or 18, handwriting is bad. 18 seems most likely 5 0 I'm trying t...

Went 4-2 at the SCG IQ today. Ended 15th out of 50, having a 1 point difference from 8th place. Feels pretty good, since it was my first competitive event. Lost in 3 to a MBD deck that I should have beat, but G1 I got mana screwed, and G3 I got mana flooded. Oh well, luck of the draw I guess. I'll p...

Just got back from FNM. Took notes, and tried to follow Val's sideboarding recommendations as close as I could from memory. Also took notes during and after games. Round 1 vs Graham, my cousin. I've decided to sleeve this up for Friday night, but I have one more question. What is the preferred turn 1 play, in game 1, given that my starting hand has both a Tapland and a Mountain, and I have a Cackler/Firepisser? Should I play the Tapland, or do I start with a threat and play the mountain? I...

Once it resolves, in theory you should no longer have to commit any more permanents to the board. Hammer is good in decks where you have plenty of lands to sacrifice, ie RW Devotion You won't have many excess lands in a 21 and deck so the idea is that on average, you'll get more value from Nyx-Smit...

I like it, and I especially like how everything is inexpensive. One more question. My noob brain can't wrap itself around how I'm supposed to use Satyr Nyx-Smith. Is it only to be used as a mana sink? I see the card advantage it provides, but wouldn't something like Hammer of Purphoros do the same t...

I think y'all are butting heads because of a very fundamental difference in approach: Jasper's looking at this from the point of view of someone who wants to inexpensively poke holes in paper at the range. Wraith's looking at this from the point of view of someone who wants to efficiently poke hole...

I'd say that you'd want to only run 1 or 2 Seismic Stomp mainboard, with none in the side. This is because SS should be a card that you draw into, not start the game with. You want to topdeck a SS when you have a decent field presence already as it will often win games like that. You'll want to keep...

Is splashing white really worth all the trouble, just to have use of 3 Chained to the Rocks? I feel like if you wanted to splash a color, you'd want to splash black to gain use of Spike Jester or something, along with the black removal like Doom Blade, Ultimate Price, and Dark Betrayal. That would a...

Herald of Torment Seems like a wonderful fit. Solid body at 3, great bestow at 5.
Pain Seer Might be nice to pan seer someone a bit to end the game faster.

Br Heroic/Aggro whatever

I've been thinking about this combination for a while now, and I'm just putting this here to collect my thoughts, and maybe get some other opinions. The creatures: Agent of the Fates The core. Hit him with spells, watch them sacrifice stuff. Thrill-Kill Assassin Auto 4-of. Unleash when dropped early...

Chose the red pre-release pack.

Pulled 1 Xenagod from a booster, and pulled another from the seeded pack. Definitely made the night worth it. Traded both off for around $50 worth of cards.
