I think you guys are nuts for playing rift with eidolon. Not sure of that's an insult or a compliment Live dangerously and play both Take 6 to deal 4? No thanks lol. You should stop worrying about your life total and instead worry about how you're gonna bring your opponent's life total to zero. Oftentimes it's not simply taking 6 to deal 4 - it's take 6 and deal 6 since you can attack with the guy too...

In Legacy Burn, your life total is definitely a resource. Rarely is it an ever an issue since you're usually ahead in the damage race. In games where it is an issue, then you're probably losing anyway...

I just want something well-rounded since I haven't played Legacy in about 4 months :/ The thing is, Florida has some of the best grinders in Modern and Legacy, pound for pound. SO not only do I have to prepare against good players and good decks, I also have to expect a bunch of garbage from the bad players. The board itself seems well-rounded for the most parts. Also, don't forget, the side events are most likely going to be 8-mans for boxes and shit...

I don't think you need the Shushers. Even against Miracles they can be weak since you have to spend the mana before they flip the card. I like a third Bridge and a third Red Blast in those spots. Really? I thought Shusher was an all-star in that matchup. He does do some nice work against Chalice decks too. :shrug...

I think your deck is so heavily preboarded for Delver and Elves so much that Searing Blood is unnecessary. Have you found 10 fetches to be better than 8 or 6? I used to run 12 at one point but that was when I ran 21 land. I want to make sure I can feed Grimmy and trigger landfall. 9-10 Mountains is the bare minimum you'll need for Fireblast, so I think I'm okay...

Depending on how much you like Lavaman, maybe -1 GL and +1 Vortex. The rest looks rather solid. I'm firm on 3 Lavamancers. I'd like to run 2 Vortex main, but I'm afraid I'd have to cut a Blaze at that point, and I'm loathe to do that especially after the results of last weeks SCG Open...

Well, that's the risk you take, lol. It's a reason why Vexing Shusher is so clutch against them. Don't play scared, Jack. But also know that there is a big difference between playing scared and playing stupid. Just evaluate their position. If you suspect they have the countermagic, throw fire at them on their turn to try to draw out that counter and then play it your turn. Battling a Blue Mage is all about dancing, if you will. You can make them play YOUR game if you're smart enough. Draw their counters out, force them to tap out or fight over something irrelevant. Timing is everything...

Vortex is a tremendous card. A resolved Jitte or Batterskull can mean the end of a game for you and the Vortex really applies the pressure for the opponent. It works great in tandem with Lava Man too - they take 2, and then another 2 from Grimmy. If you can resolve it against Miracles, it's hard to lose that match too...

I'd go with a second Lavamancer and cut a Ring for a Mountain just because the Ring isn't bros with Price, Fireblast, and Lavamacer. Relic is a fine choice for shrinking Tarmogoyfs (so you can pick them off with Lavamancer), hindering Dredge and Snapcaster, and cycling for more Burn...

Agree/disagree: Searing Blood is a card that we want in the main 60 in a fetchless list. Nope. Searing Blaze is the first choice. It's hard enough to run 4 maindeck creature-only kill spells, but the payoff is totally worth it when you're up against fair decks. When you're up against a combo deck, you only have 4 dead cards as opposed to 4+. Now, I'm pretty sure that you want to run Searing Blood OVER Searing Blaze and I don't think it's a good idea. I've been running 20 land fetchless for a little bit online (just last week, I believe, was when I got my Mesas finally) and rarely did I have an issue casting Blaze for the full 3 damage. When I couldn't get 3 out of it, it still wasn't so bad since most creatures I was trying to kill were x/ 1's. I wouldn't recommend running a set of Blazes with less than 20 land, however. The beauty of Blaze is that when you're against creatures with big asses, like Tarmogoyfs or Knights of the Reliquary, it's guaranteed damage (which is what you want). I think you'd be better off exchanging 2 mountains for a lavaman and a flame rift, but maybe that's just because 18 land is all I've known. I prefer 20 land. The 4 fetches may thin it out a bit. Do you ever cut Mountains when sideboarding?[/ quote] Nope. Mountain is my strongest card. I actually like to cast my spells and hit my landfall triggers for casting Searing Blaze...

Man, I completely forgot about Ashen Rider! With these types of cards, I'm just always afraid that you have to dedicate more of your sideboard space than a certain match up deserves in order to see it at the right time. It also sucks that you really can't afford to heavily mulligan into anything. It's a necessary evil at times. Criteria #3: It keeps you from losing in turns 1-3. Obviously Bridge is universally better since it works against other decks...
