Standard is best with three to four clearly tier 1 decks with room for some sideboard tech. That way, technical skill matters more than the deck you decided to sleeve up the night before the tournament.

Sure, I think ways to gain life are super important and why both RW and Rhino decks aren't going anywhere despite a lot of brews kinda ignoring them.

My guess is since it's an Invitational and not an Open this weekend, people will actually respect the red deck to a reasonable degree. Though it's telling that almost nobody else is talking about it considering Mono Red is one of the best performing decks on MODO despite being over represented.
