I ended up buying a 3DS XL, Soul Silver, and Black2.
I was able to really get into an Emerald emulator about half a year ago, so I think it will be worth it. I just wish they would mature the series a bit. I don't need decapitations and salty language, I just need the opposite of god damned ice cream cone Pokemon.
bw is kinda deep despite that shitty thing

yea, people troll on the gts. in b2w2 people were doing a Magnemite coil, trading Magnemite's to help the join avenueCan anyone explain the GTS? How is it networked? I checked it out on Soul Silver and there were maybe twenty different Pokemon available. I went in looking to see what it would take to get a Scizor, but I left wondering why a Vulpix was named Growlithe. Are people trolling?

So I think I've found out that Soul Silver/Heart Gold is on a different GTS network than Gen 5, which I assume is why it's so barren. This is a shame. It shouldn't have been difficult for whatever service Nintendo wrote to at least allow for trading between Gen 4 and Gen 5 as long as the trade is backwards compatible.

3D is a nice gimmick but you can tur it off. I only found it necessary when playing Super Mario 3D. Its the other features of the 3DS that sells it compared to the DSi. Try it if you find a good deal.

This whole GTS business is silly as hell.
I found out the reason why I could only see a handful of Pokemon is because they only allow you to search for Pokemon you've seen before. This is stupid, but at least it clears up why the GTS looked dead.
Now I'm trying to find out if I can pull off the following:
1. Catch a low level Scyther in the Bug Contest in SS. Throw a metal coat on it.
2. Switch to Black 2, get the first badge, and throw up some common, shitty Pokemon on the GTS asking for a Scyther (I'd probably try to get a female just to make it rarer so there's a better chance I'd find myself).
3. Switch back to my SS and make the trade.
I've read that it's not possible to trade for anything in the National Dex in Gen V before you
actually get the National Dex, and I've also read that you can and it will just show up as #???. I've read that Gen V has done away with the stupid requirement of having to see the Pokemon first to be able to search for it/request it, and I've read that that's still a limitation. I've read you need two DS games and just one DS system and that you need two DS games and two DS systems.
Is this possible? Should I just buy an Action Replay thing for $20 and hope it works/doesn't destroy my system? Why does Nintendo hate fun?

i only play around with the 3ds when bored.
3ds has fire embelm awakening. an epic turn based strat rpg.
rpgs you have the ds line up, plus a couple good games. truthfully it's still a young system

Ugh, this whole system is just poorly implemented. If Nintendo didn't insist on making their own shitty hardware, maybe their software could be up to the standards of this decade, too.i dont think you can trade gen 4 to gen 5 via gts
I guess my only option is to buy a used DS to Poketransfer with, or try a DNS service like pokedit.com
