Canada like snowstorm in my part of Japan today. Commuting was fun. Japanese drivers can't drive in the rain, let alone snow. First time I've been late in four years.

Got to go out and make snowmen with the kids though. It was a good morning :)

Now if it could fuck off and stop so FNM won't be cancelled, that would be wonderful.

Re: Superman - all of that 'he's not even human' stuff was intentional. Superman represents the marginalized of society - he's a total outcast, literally an illegal alien, and people see him as a 'freak'. But all he wants is to be accepted as a part of the world (Clark Kent). Here's a blog post about it, you have to scroll down a little to get to the actual content: http://alvarezblue.tumblr.com/post/7440 ... -on-a-farm
Yo, Z! I barely even play Magic anymore, but I want to check out your tutorials anyway. If that's cool. Because I'm not a true red bro. Even if I did get one of the first posts on the old clan thread. So, you know, I've been around and stuff.
Anything for you little lady.
*swoon*
I'm glad I'm not the only one this happens to.

I just texted the girl I like that I'm still in love with her (even after telling her 2 weeks ago that I still like her). Despite all this I don't feel like it's time to ask her out because I'm still not sure how she feels about it. I only see her 1-2 times at most per week. I just don't want to be stupid again like the last time.

Don't mind me, just wanted to get that out.

Anywayz, update on the Competitive Player Workshop

Format:
Its going to be an 8 week program that I write and monitor.

Each week there will be:
- a weekly article written by me
- links to related works (not necessarily all magic, infact, often not)
- quote for the week (i find these help to internalize lessons and focus the mind)
- video for the week (again, typically not magic related).

All the content will go up on Sunday (my time); we'll then have a Socratic discourse to explore the ideas throughout the week.

I'll be working out what each of the weeks will involve this weekend, then i'll put that up for review / input before we begin. I imagine the entire project will start in March (after the GP). If you have friends elsewhere (other sites or IRL) let them know and get them involved. I have a lot to say and I think having all of these resources put into one place that an
aspiring player can engage with, think about, come back to and ask questions about will be very valuable. Socratic discourse is an excellent teaching device and I think having to concretely explain and defend ideas can only further one's understanding of the discussed concepts.

Consider me a freelance writer/source that you can use.

The socratic method thing is interesting as I've never done it, but sounds like something I'd enjoy.

So long story short, I just spent four hours running up and down Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills fetching things for snobby rich people. Never has my self dignity been so low and my desire to shoot myself in the head so high.

She hasn't replied but I'm not too worried. The last time I worried too much, I thought myself to a downward spiral of negative thoughts it wasn't pretty. We learn our lessons. That feeling is still the worst though.

Involuntary temp job helping some rich people. I saw over $100k in transactions in two hours while getting paid 1/1000th of that for eight hours of work.

I tried looking up Socratic discourse on Wikipedia, but I'm going to need a tl;dr...

So, give me a very short explanation on that. Thanks!

Also known as Socratic dialogue:
http://www.circeinstitute.org/2011/03/w ... c-dialogue

1. Question what you know and understand the inadequacies in your current way of thinking.
2. Remedy your ignorance and build a more solid
foundation of understanding.

From the link:
There are "four Socratic convictions. First, truth is. Second, truth is knowable. Third, truth can be discovered. And fourth, truth is ultimately one, in the sense that all things fit together into a harmonious symphony of being."

Collet-Serra: Nobody's interesting. Tetsuo's interesting because weird shit happens to him, and Kaneda is so two-dimensional. That's part of the
Japanese culture, they never have strong characters. They're used as a way to move the other philosophy forward.
He also hopes to expand the film into a full trilogy.
