With all this anime discussion recently, I thought I'd share that my LGS owner has a booth set up for Comicon and met Steve Blum yesterday. Apparently he's a big deal?
Steve Blum is pretty much the most accomplished voice actor ever. Not just in anime, but in western shows and video games, too.

Spike from Cowboy Bebop, Char from the Gundam series, Tom from the Toonami bumps, and Vincent Valentine from FFVII come to mind. Anytime a show has a raspy, deep voice and isn't James Earl Jones - it's probably Steve Blum.

And if you are unfamiliar with any of those works they listed he is the animated voice for all Marvel cartoons or games staring Wolverine not including Xmen Evolution and the 90s Xmen cartoon.

Yes guys I know. See my post a few clicks up. :p

I'm not huge into Anime but I did watch a bit of Toomami back in the day as well as some Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Beebop and a little Gundam. Everyone on our Facebook page was so jealous and were offering sexual favors for his autograph. I guess that's the point you realize you've made it in the world!

Basically if it came on during Adult Swim from 2004-2008, I watched it. They became part of my homework + study routine. My favorite was Fullmetal Alchemist but I wasn't able to watch enough episodes of any of the Anime shows that came on to know what the hell was going on.

I liked FMA quite a lot. Adult Swim did a lot of really good anime runs (Cowboy Bebop, Trigun) and a lot of really obscure ones that ended up being decent too.

Soooo the girlfriend secretly got me a box of BNG for valentines. Brimaz, foil Spirit of the labyrinth, Xenagos & Courser.

FNM not so hot. 1-3 using U/w Devotion. Lost to variance. Got a bad case of the screw on the matches I lost. Replayed the people I lost to and the deck ran on fire. Will post a list here or start a thread in the standard area.

So I priced out my deck a couple of minutes ago, it's worth just shy of $140, and that value drops under $40 if you pull the 2 mutavaults and the 4 reckoners from the board. Tempted to sell off the money parts and just play the deck sub-par, even with the money cards it's still not that good, because rdw post bng is just not where anyone wants to be.

I've thought about the same, Boros Reckoner doesn't seem to be getting any play in Modern and Legacy, and I'm wondering when the best time to get rid of them would be. I'm more attached to my two Mutavaults, since they have eternal use. But their price is getting a bit out there. I'm wondering if they're going to keep this price once they leave Standard, depends on how faeries starts doing in Modern. I still doubt they keep this price though.

I'm very close to selling my Mutavaults. They won't ever fetch as much as they are now and the deck I'm building now doesn't even need them. I bought/traded at $10 so it's very enticing.

Yeah, I noticed that a lot of my non-standard shit got more expensive since I last checked on it, and I'm wondering if I should just sell it now before a reprint would be announced or if I should wait until Modern season really starts up. I never thought Ranger of Eos would be more than $6, and here it is at $11 (and going strong). And $40-70 for a fetch is just fucked up. I think I'll just wait until the price starts to flat line for a week, then I'll sell.

To put it into perspective, Mutavault is played in every strictly tribal deck in eternal formats (Merfolk, maybe Goblins and Fae) while Thoughtseize is played in nearly every deck with black mana. I think TS will be more useful to you in the long term, even if it's not as valuable. You'll get an extra year to play with them in Standard, too.

I may hold on to a mutavault and a reckoner for commander purposes, but I don't see me using any of them beyond that and standard. A mutavault and 3 reckoners could probably get me a fetch and something else.

I had this fucked up dream last night.

I was at a family gathering and one of my testicles just fell out of my ball bag for no reason. I was walking around with my ball in my hand trying to convince someone to take me to the hospital but nobody could hear me. I started screaming, "YOU FUCKING ASSHOLES! DON'T IGNORE ME!" and my grandmother finally acknowledged me and was like, "What's wrong dear?" and I was like, "My ball fell out of my ball bag!" and she was just like, "That's nice dear."and then I started screaming and the room started spinning and then I woke up in a cold sweat with low blood sugar.

I really like Wescoe's new article here http://magic.tcgplayer.com/db/article.asp?ID=11648

I noticed that my aggro decks that I started playing in Theros fit a lot of the principals he laid out.
