I just won another SE with hexproof. beat esper in the finals (YES!) and won rounds 1 and 2 vs burn/boros/someredpiles/whoevenknowswhatreddecksrunanymore. round one I mulled to 5 all three games but pulled out the post-board games.

mulligans seem to be a problem but the deck seems resilient

Up to 4 QP's for Season 4. 2 for 2 in 8-mans with MDU's Big Burn deck, beating Esper, UW Devotion and GR monsters this time.

Satyr Nyx-Smith has so far been great against control decks!

yeah brought it in final round because fuck it, he was playing wr beats so anger seemed good

blew him out with anger in games 2 and 3, but i couldn't find the land i needed and he just kept dropping creatures

i fucked that one game up in round 2, it cost me the event maybe, gosu ended up like 6-0

3-1 to 3-3 is not exactly what i was expecting with the deck, but then again i built the ur deck and for some reason changed it last minute to an inferior deck because 2x satyr seemed so good

yea. I've been listening to a lot of podcasts and realizing some of the misevaluations I was making about cards and that's prob why I was struggling the past month. I'm happy to finally be winning in standard. after this ptq I can start playing a little more limited maybe

Gosu is just farming the Prelims (so it suck to lose to him) - I think he is just trying to cheat his way into the limited ladder (he only needs to take down two Prelims to break in).

I believe Prelim = worth 35 points (since QP = Points, does Prelim QP count towards points?), ya only need 52 points to get into limited ladder.

(Just so you know, being in the poty ladder does't require being hardcore - you can do with with one finish per day (I made all 4 MOCS so I've just been slowly grinning for months which is why I only have 120 points (120 QPs) - though Jedi and Pedros broke into the ladder within 2-3 days, so I think they got 20+ QP each last week alone, that's insane guys....)

Played my one Modern event yesterday got 2 QP, played my one Standard Event today got 2 QP now have 4 QP so 31 more to go.... how are you going Ham?

Are the 8-mans filled with janky nonsense by design, or have I just hit a patch of rough luck? I keep going up against tier 2 shit like Soul Sisters and Infect, but the real decks are nowhere to be seen.

Its the timezone meta, etc... during Australian hours (basically Japan's Hours) you face more grinders so in standard it would be Bx Devotion and Gr every ****ing game...., but if I play in the morning (US hours) I'll play against some random Hexproof, Maze End or other T2 brew list.

In my experience with ME (8-Mans) I only fought two Causal brews, it could just be bad luck or poor 'timezone meta' more people are online during US hours so you have a much bigger pool of players.

Fiendslayers poop. Brimaz and thune are where its at. If you can I'd add one glare of heresy to the board for your burn deck(which I agree is better then zems). Actually, before I realized rw devotion was still the best deck ever, I was considering sleeving up some chainwalkers and firstblades. You dont even need to play stormbreath Dragon in that build.

Dancer kills the Fiendslayer, I know people in GP don't run Fiendslayer but the grinders on MODO do and since we're talking about MODO he is relevant.

Boros Charm works though.

EDIT: looking on goldfish now, the grinders (chihoi, JPablo and Ser1alKinder) are running 3-4 Fiendslayers (though the avg. players are not, I guess you could ignore it).

EDIT2: I haven't actually tried Ben's list yet so I really can't call it my own, I do however think it better only because I believe its solid vs UW, BW Control (I actually think BW is a worst MU then Gr and UW) and I prefer its SB vs Gr since Boros Reck is strong vs 80% of that list. That said I haven't tested it them both so if Lazerburn and Z can produce results vs the fomentation list without losing to Bx Devotion then I have no issue swapping alliances.

in the finals of another SE with hexproof. just beat BUG control that was running counters, far and away, gaze of granite, vraska etc after a mull to 5 and at one point I was at 6 facing a mutavault with no cards in hand to his 3 and I ended the game with 35 life
