I haven't heard any details yet about what forensics turned up, but if the boy's dad isn't brought up on charges I will be astounded.
That story gives me mixed feelings. On the one hand, I'm completely against allowing unsupervised minors to have access to weaponry. On the other, this kid wasn't unsupervised - his father was right there with his brother.

Without more details, this sounds like one of those things that 9,999 times out of 10,000 would have simply been a fun day out shooting with your kids, but this just happended to be that 10,000th time and someone died.

Played at Tuesday night magic with junk reanimator, finished 1st place going 4-0. Every Game 3 I played I mulliganed at least once. Mulliganing is seriously, my favorite part of the game. My record in games where I mulled was like 4/1. First place was good for 25 bucks which I split with my deck provider. Tonight is the "High roller" Tourney so entry is 20 bucks and we should be seeing bigger cash prizes. Hopefully I can run the table again.

SO MUCH AGRRO. That's all that's played at this story. Naya blitz, boros humans, Jund agro. Never even looked at my sideboard duressess.

Also, A kid at my store keeps saying that Selesnya is the best guild for the prerelease. Thoughts? Since I don't play limited, I'll probably just do with the guys tell me I should do. Or go Orzhov.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Thanks for the advice, guys. I found a playset on ebay for $36, so I bought them. TCG has them around $10, so that's not a bad price at all. If anything, I expect that they'll drop to around $8 after DGM and then start climbing again, probably to around $12-$13.

Good afternoon, clansmen. I will be on sporadically for the the next coupla days...getting ready to pick my daughter up from school and head to Salina for the funeral. The final ruling as are as what's been released is accidental self-inflicted GSW after they boy's dad put a semi-auto 9mm in his hands and walked away from him to help his other son with another weapon. I haven't heard any details yet about what forensics turned up, but if the boy's dad isn't brought up on charges I will be astounded.

Senseless.

I will likely check in briefly from the hotel tonight. Best to you all, and to all the parents, hugs your kids once big from me.
A senseless tragedy that could have been easily avoided.

I'm not sure how I feel about charges
being brought against the father. On the one hand, it sounds like negligence handing a loaded gun to a 7-year old and then walking away. On the other hand, he lost his son because of his actions. That feels like punishment enough.

Why worry about the "best" guild? Pick one that you'll enjoy playing. I'm going with Rakdos since I was fairly successful with them at the RtR Release and had fun with it. I need to pick up more goodies for Dos Rakis anyway. :D

Boros looks neat so far, and most of the guilds that it could be paired with seem like they would work well with it.

I found that Orzhov was easily the best at GTC (in the hands of a skilled player), but it's too early to tell atm. It all comes down to the commons.

I'm a big gun advocate, but I personally would never hand a loaded gun to a 7-year old. Gun handling requires a great deal of discipline and maturity that almost all 7-year olds lack.

As many times as we see PSAs on gun safety it is still sorely lacking in many gun owners. I don't know the whole story in your particular case so I won't pass judgement, but it seems like even though the vast majority of gun owners are responsible and safe with their weapons, there's those very few people who end up as a headline because they didn't take the necessary precautions.

I dont know about you guys, but I really want to make a deck that uses the hardlock that has been found between Possibility storm and Curse of Echoes. I'm thinking along the lines of a UWR control deck

[deck]Possibilities are endless[/deck]

Any suggestions? I'm not a great deck builder, so any help would be appreciated. :D

The same can be said about a LOT of iridium. God, Metamorph is like the prime example of that.

Mmmmm....I like metamorph a lot. I honestly think that him, you, LP and I are on about the same tier of dickishness. If I had to pick 4 guys in the standard forum who knew their stuff but were total asshats about it...it would be us 4 :P
