Over the past few days Nintendo has started sending content ID claims on many lets players videos rendering any monetizing away from the content maker to Nintendo. Now for what may come as rare times A personal feeling to this:

Nintendo is doing this all wrong. The system they are using will also hit Reviewers and such and will deny them money on doing what is their Job. But Nintendo isn't the only one to go all anti social on media. Sega of Japan did this on shining force. So we now have had 2 big issues against videos on video games. Sadly BOTH coming from the japan side of things. This brings to light a lot more issues on how they are being Run. To me it feels like Japan side of gaming has become stagnant and they seem to not want to hear a damn thing from the western side of gaming. Maybe Im wrong. Maybe im going too judgemental... But all I can say is this... Nintendo has decided to back off E3 (western event), throw content ID claims galore (effected worldwide but mostly western), and still haven't released a single "hardcore" game for the wiiU... and it was released late last year. 6+ months.

Nintendo might be hurting for cash if the markets continue to see lowered demand for their newest console. That could explain why they're doing this to Let's Play vids. The Wii U was poorly marketed, released to minimal fanfare, and without any huge flagship titles (aka a Smash Bros / Zelda game).

Nintendo really is trying to be the niche console but its cutting out potential playerbase. Nintendo are running their own reveal shows and staying away from E3, taking away free advertising by killing LP's and releasing strange consoles. nintendo is rich but in 10 years I see them pulling a Sega and selling to third parties.
