It's nice to see you guys talk about politics.
I guess you're experts or something.
Does anyone know a way to get rid of a Berlusconi?
From what I hear, he's doing a fine job of getting rid of himself.
I'd really like to believe it, but that's not our case.
He's just surviving everything thrown at him, because most of his electors are old people willing to believe anything he says, so he can just go around yelling that judges hate him and the morons will continue to believe him.
For example, he's managed to slow down our judicial system enough to avoid being
condemned for most of his crimes while still being able to tell people that our main problem is that the Evil Judges are allowed to prosecute politicians like him, thus preventing them from doing their jobs - and his electors just swallow hook, line and sink, because he owns the media.

He's just doing a fine job in dodging all the bullets, while the whole country sinks.

wow. American media outlets, at least those I've tuned into, paint a different picture. Or perhaps I'm reading into it too much and just ASSUMING that things are more obvious than they really are over there.

This. This all rotting damn day. Even the fucking WEATHER has become a source of drama in this country! Every time a big storm comes through or we have tornadoes around our weather people completely take over the TV as if we are looking at The Apocalypse. Everything is about generating sensationalism rather than communicating accurate and relevant information. News is for the most part just another (un)reality show here today.

A quick example: after two decades of dodging sentences, mr.Berlusconi has FINALLY been proven guilt in a minor trial, so it seems that his main industry (and source of income) wasn't really that willing to play taxes in the last million of years, which that he should be going to jail (but won't, as he is too old for that in our country) and banned from political activity.
Now, the right wing wants to step down from the government if things go as they should, and the left wing... wants to do the same.
Ask yourself why,
I don't want to know.

Just listening to NOFX and heard the funniest lyrics:

Now with her legs spread wider
She needed to have Louise inside her
She said, "I'll never forget the first time
You kissed me, now I want you to fist me"

Don't be sorry, it's important. The extreme right/nationalist ideas are getting more and more popular all over Europe, and to fight it people need to be educated and reminded of history. At school I thought history was one of the most boring subjects, but as an adult I have come to realise that it is perhaps the most important subject.
The rise of right wing nationalist viewpoints is particularly troubling given the state of the economy. People are hurting, and they are looking for someone to vent that hurt and anger upon. It's a volatile mixture.
The biggest reason to study history is learning on mistakes and understanding certain mechanism that shapes the future. Let's take this quote as an example. Do you know how exactly Hitler got himself into role of Fuhrer, even while being Austrian room painter? Well. He did the same thing. After First World War,
Germany as one of the biggest losers of the war was rendered useless. You know how limiting some country's army size to 20% of their usual size works on a country that for 9 years focused on war and war only. Germany was ruin. And then Hitler came. He blamed Jews for the whole loss, mostly due to German-Jewish Communist and Pacifist Rose Luxemburg. Country full of frustrated people just loved to listen the simplest explanation of why their country is so weak now. It's not even their fault after all, it's all about these Jews. I have to admit that during this time, Antisemitism was growing in most of European countries due to Jews controlling a lot of factories and shops (so, the best part of whole industry).

What happens now? We have a crisis. Crisis which got started around 2005 by Americans. There's no blame in that, as it's all about them taking so many loans that American banks stopped operating on physical money for a long time. They had no real money, just funds that will profit them in few
years. That back-lashed on their industry which back-lashed on our industry, making chaos grow. But most of Europeans don't understand that. They don't know what the hell is the whole crisis actually. They only know bad economic situation, difficulties with finding a job, lower salaries and higher costs of living. That is why they are willing to hear even the silliest explanations of why that happened. Hearing "It's because US banks were giving out too much money during holiday season" doesn't reflect the actual thing pretty well. On the other hand hearing "Fuck Muslims" or even "Fuck Other Countries, That's Their Fault" lands on population which likes to hear these things. The core of polish nationalist party comes from football/soccer hooligans community.

By knowing the history you know how situation like that can grow. And that is hell'a scary.
I'd really like to believe it, but that's not our case.

Never heard that kind of standpoint about him, but to be honest I'm not watching TV often these days. All I remember about him were customs-related scandals and nepotism. On the other hand he sounds like one of our politicians (deceased already) Andrzej Lepper. That ensures tragic-comedy. Lepper was kind of guy who had 50 crimes on his account (like for example
nearly-raping one of the woman working who belonged to his party) and was safe for years thanks to being part of a government.

I heard Greece has one Nazi-style politician who uses his political immunity to hound muslims. Like literally, coming with some of his friends from Police and demolishing Muslim's houses and workplaces.
Not just Europe.
Damn. I just realized that I have no idea about Japan as a country. I know you are mostly here for the talk about cards, but could you share a story or two about these nationalist movements in Japan (and political situation as overall) - some brief explanation would suffice. I might sound ignorant, but I have no idea what party system (two-parties like USA and Germany, multi-parties?) do you use etc.

Fun facts about polish politician I mentioned before - Andrzej (Andrew) Lepper. When you talk about populism, you have seen NOTHING. He was the walking definition of populism, mostly because his political career started when he (working as a farmer) started to block the streets in some kind of riot against government. So they allowed him to join the government. His first years were just pure comedy gold.
"Country is stupid. People don't have money. Why country doesn't print the money so people would have them? Country is evil!"
"It's impossible to rape a prostitute."

I should probably defer to
Solemn10
as he is actually Japanese, and I am just a long term visitor. Japan is a constitutional democracy much like the UK, Canada, or Australia. There is a multi party system. My impression is that the newest Prime Minister (Abe) is ultra-nationalist and ultra-right wing. He seems to want to tear up the current constitution (which was written by the USA after Japan surrendered in WW2) and write a new one. He also seems to want to expand the Japanese military (currently limited by treaty to a self defense only role), and begin a new age of Japanese imperialism. I actually think there are a lot of parallels between the conditions imposed on Germany after WW1 and those imposed on Japan post WW2.

Japan actually has very pre-WW2 Germany-esque black propaganda trucks that drive around saying we should kick all the foreigners out etc. Creepy as fuck.

There are some disturbing trends in America and Canada too. Our police are becoming more and more militarized, and police brutality is becoming
the norm under the guise of national security and anti-terrorism. Canada is in lock-step with everything America does, and the other day I read an article about US police being able to come into Canada to enforce American laws, while being above Canadian laws. The same article suggested that the NSA consider Canada and Mexico to be part of America for the purpose of national security. Frightening times we live in, when our sovereignty seems to be worth less that perceived protection from perceived external threats.

I am cautiously optimistic about a change in government, with our Conservative party likely being ousted by the Liberal party. The Liberals tend to stand up to American influence more. The man who will likely be the new prime minister even want to completely legalize pot nation wide. Not sure how I feel about it, but it's interesting.

Thanks. Also feeling motivated on building a good mono-red deck. I think One-Piece is instilling me with an unhealthy sense of pride and I want to set people on fire.

I will say playing different decks does things to my mindset.

Playing UWR: I feel clever because you can make some very clever plays with that deck and it lets you show off a wider range of your skills in matches.

Playing Red and Aggro in general: I feel straight up better at magic then my opponents, at least in the close games(I usually win the close ones). You have to work so hard with so little. I actually feel that UWR type decks and the Red decks have a yin-yang relationship. One deck punishes mistakes brutally(of both pilots) and the other allows you to incrementally beat people. Two sides of the same coin the way I see it.

Playing Jund: I feel smart. You have to work hard for most of your wins? Idiot. Playing Jund, I win half the games, the
deck wins the rest and the fools playing not jund deserve to lose to miracle bonfire because it's going to happen.

But right now, I'm trying to...Ace the competition with my red mage skillz and I may just build a Chandra deck.

Until then, episode 325 Start.

If you google watch one piece, there are a million sites where you can watch it for free. If you're looking at watchonepiece.com or hulu though, you'll have to eventually find someplace else to view it because THE COCKSUCKERS LEAVE OUT EPISODES 280 TO LIKE 370 or something like that. I hadn't realized how "big" cosplay is getting globally until Sci Fi announced that they were airing a new series focused on the phenomenon. I did a little research and was seriously astounded at the growth in popularity and depth of the culture. Showing my narrow world awareness again, I'm afraid...
