Hey Ham, this one's for you.

New card from Theros:

Satyr Hedonist
1G
Creature - Satyr
R, Sac ~: Add RRR to your mana pool
2/1

Infernal Plunge bear. Would that fit in the list you brewed up with BTE, Simian Spirit Guide, Manamorphose, etc.?
Haha, probably. Turn 2 Blood
Moon for the lulz! And terrible mulligans otherwise :)
c'mon man, think like RivalTuna for a sec.

You can tots do this at least 70% of the time:

T1: Goblin Guide, attack for 2
T2: BTE, new Satyr, exile Spirit Guide, sac Satyr, Goblin Guide, Goblin Bushwhacker kicked, attack for 11.

That's more Kamhl thinking.

RivalTuna would just roundhouse kick the guy until he concedes, then steal that guy's gf and ride off with her in his Corvette so they can have a threesome with his 80 pound triple-G-breasted gf before undertaking an impossible SEAL mission to keep us all safe from terrorist.
10/10 would read again.

I don't hate him, I just think he is substantially overrated.

It's easy to be right when you take every side of an argument at some point in your ramblings. I've seen him express diametrically opposing viewpoints within minutes of one another in event coverage just so he can talk his way around to "I know so much and everyone should hang on my every word". He's just too much of a wishy-washy babblefish for me.

Good point.

I remember him going from 'Stonewright is amazing' to 'Stonewright is unplayable' to 'no comment' in the space of about
three days.

Three months into marriage and the wife is "taking a break."

I don't think we've been apart for a day in years. Now she's staying with a friend for a few days. Maybe longer.

I don't know how to deal with this.

I like the fact that people like Cedric because it brings people to magic in a sense as SCG has the best commentary outside of LSV on the pro tour, but for the man himself, I find everything he does highly annoying.

Niggaz be hatin'.

How did she justify the thing?

Your "taking a break" sounds pretty weighty, Kaze...sorry to hear that things are out of sorts. You know we're here if you need to talk, man.

Depends on what "taking a break" means. Does it mean "Taking a break from the relationship because I need to figure out what to do with it", or does it mean "I just want to have some time on my own for a while". Being apart for while because of "alone time" is just healthy in a relationship. So in that case I wouldn't worry too much. If it's the first case, then you probably have to talk about it.

I posted this in the brewery thread, but I made some changes and thought I might just post it here instead this time (more readers). I'm thinking of just having some fun on the last Standard FNM before the rotation. Due to the mana elves I'm a bit unsure of the land count though, and if I should dump the Mutavaults.

[deck]
Lands
18 Forest
2 Mutavault

Creatures
4 Arbor Elf
4 Elvish Mystic
4 Kalonian Tusker
4 Strangleroot Geist
2 Predator Ooze
4 Champion of Lambholt
4 Deadbridge Goliath
4 Wolfir Silverheart

Spells
4 Rancor
3 Blessings of Nature
3 Revenge of the Hunted

Sideboard
4 Ratchet Bomb
2 Windstorm
3 Fog
3 Ranger's Guile
3 Prey Upon
[/deck]

As a rule of thumb I usually consider an elf as 1/4 of a source, so I'd consider your deck as running 22 sources.
Also, I don't really like those miracle spells, I think I'd rather cut them altogether for an extra Mutavault, an Ooze and a set of Elvish Archdruids, just for the lulz.

by Platypus
I can add more Mutavaults, the rest probably not since I'm not getting any new cards for this one. But maybe I can borrow some, the Archdruids would be sweet. About those Miracle spells, I might drop the Blessings. I figured I'd make enough mana to hard cast them if necessary.

Sorry to hear that Kaze.

But try not to think about it as time away from your wife, try to think about it as the perfect excuse to go slam that cutie at the tea shop I seem to remember was shooting you a cock-hungry vibe a few months ago.

I'm gonna play the boring guy and advise you to give her the break. No calls, no interruption. She probably has her reasons and they're most likely not as bad as you think. Questioning her too much would probably lead to arguments.

In the meantime, enjoy some time away from the wife!

@Kaze Sorry to hear that man, I was in a relationship for 3 years before she randomly said she was done (not to say the same fate will befall you). Anyways you could always blow up the moon in her name, bitches love that shit.

Please keep us updated on the situation with the wandering wife. I've had my share of crazy redheads doing unexpected shit at inopportune moments, so I'm offering my support.

I went 2-1 last night in Modern. It was only 8 people, but there were a lot of strong decks: R/G Tron, Blue Tron, 2 American Control decks, Junk, Twin, Burn, and my Goblins.

I beat the Junk player(2-0), lost against my testing buddy that was playing American Control (1-2), and dominated the other American Control guy (2-0). I got 3rd place, which was good enough for a pack of Modern Masters with a nifty Glen Elendra inside.

I learned a few things:

Akki Avalanchers is the real deal apparently. After getting in for an extra 2-6 damage during my first round, word quickly spread that the little land eating goblins should be "kill-on-sight."

My deck needs more Blood Moon. I'm bumping the count up to 3.

Arc Trail really wasn't needed in any of my matches. I think Legion Loyalist is already really good against decks that block AND against decks that play Lingering Souls. In fact, I was happier to see
Electrickery in my Junk match than I was to see Arc Trail.

Goblin King, while cute, is merely a placeholder until I get more Shared Animosity. With that said, it was great to attack into an animated Celestial Colonnade and tell the control guy, "No blocks, faggot. They got the Mountainwalks, see?" Needless to say, the King was dead next turn.

@Kaze - That sucks to hear, man. However, sometimes breaks can be healthy. The hard part is to not drive yourself insane thinking about what led up to this. Just use this time to have fun, flirt with other chicks, get smashed, snort some coke, punch a stripper, drunkenly piss on a bum, etc. I have found that these activities really help get my mind off of the negative things and into a productive frame of mind. ;)

I'm not particularly sure how this is productive to fixing problems in a marriage. I'm thinking she's just enjoying inflicting pain right now.

Most women do. And it's the worst kind of pain: the emotional kind.

Worst thing you can do is let her know she's getting to you, though.

If she thinks you're okay with the situation and don't care one way or another it'll drive her nuts.

Or it could have the opposite effect. She could think that because it's not getting to you that you don't care, thereby confirming her suspicions.

Women are a complicated breed.

Yeah, word. I may or may not have a long resume full of situations just like yours, so if you need to know how to handle it or just to chat, it's not like I'm hard to find. I'm pretty sure everyone here knows my facebook and I'm also on MODO a lot now.

Uh, it was just kinda of a "this was a long time coming" sort of thing. Apparently she's been unhappy for a while about this that and the other thing and I guess I don't treat her as she would like to be. Not sure why she didn't tell me until now and just went straight to leaving, though. I'm still kind of confused.

Looking at the aftermath of last night, I just realized I put a huge crack in our solid oak front door, which would be kind of cool if I wasn't so down.

Thanks for all your support, by the way, guys.
