I actually like Scumbag, and the rest of the "staff" is irrelevant since they're not actual staff.
I don't know the aliases, and the staff tends to refer to each other by their old Sally names. Is Scumbag admin/Khadafi? Is Kait Madding?

Quick recap for those of you who aren't mods:

According to certain useless moderators on this website, we're all "casuals who take themselves too seriously," meanwhile they hide in their hidden-from-public forums licking their wounds and crying about how mean MTGS was to them while being bratty.

I'm not doing any of the stuff I do for them. I'm doing it for us because I believe we've got a really solid group of talented players here that can really help teach people to play analytically.
At this point I am surprised that you, Zem, and Red haven't created your own site and forums so you do not have to put up with that attitude.

Last I played against a Necra, he managed to put out a Whip to nullify the damage before getting the Golgari Charm for it, though.

I still haven't eaten a 4 damage as most claimed when he's spoiled. That mortar tends to hit other before hitting it.

We probably would have if any of us actually thought their opinions carried any weight. The admin of this site (Scumbag) is not like them, though. So everything is cool. His take was "Hey, why don't you just try and ignore each other?" Which is pretty reasonable.

I consider myself to be a Casual Try hard. I have no illusions about being on the pro-tour, but I want to win everything I do enter. I think there's a lot of people on here who probably feel the same.

We're not trying to build a team to play at a Pro Tour, though. It's perfectly acceptable for people to be less-than-PT level with the like-minded objective to get better.

Urph, Modo is down for maintenance. Only managed to play a 2-man queue against Dega. It ran some weird choices like Tithe Drinker, which Spark Jolt easily dispatched.

Still, dang, where is all the monored? I haven't faced one for two whole days.

I'll let Jerry and James move their own posts, preferably to their corresponding shameholes since they know better than to post lists here. :gonk:
A little clarification is in order here, methinks...

I can get behind posting decklists that we want to build upon in their appropriate threads and then linking them in if there is germane discussion in the clan stream of consciousness. James said as much himself...guilty as charged for throwing stuff in the clan thread out of convenience. But I don't feel--nor I would guess does anyone else--that this necessarily applies to lists that are just a point-in-time part of casual discussion. For
example, James said he'd not seen UW Master of Waves, I knew a list won Oregon States, so I posted it to say "here ya go" because someone else had referenced such a list. As James pointed out in the PM that I sent him with said list, it's a pile and not worthy of further discussion or development. Such things are part of the flow of discussion, and I don't know that any of us intend to stop posting such things as the flow of conversation dictates. If something is worth pursuing, we can port the lists wherever we need to, as I've done on numerous occasions thus far. No one, however, is interested in playing thread hopscotch on their phone every time we want to point at a deck.

Alex, I tried to say this kinda to the side a while back with the behavioral allusion to Koopa, but now I'll be direct. This clan has an elected council and a body of membership, and we're not looking for an ubermod. Just because you have admin privileges on the site--which you went and curried for yourself
without so much as a "by your leave" from the council--doesn't mean that you or anyone other single person dictates procedure here. The irony here is that we left Sally to avoid dictatorial bullshit, and now you--who was one of the biggest thorns in the mods' collective ass--are acting the most like them.

I am without question all for the idea of better organization--especially with all the remarkable content that you, James and others provide--but stop being a dick about it. We've never had a king, so no one died and left that burden to you.

And while we're on point, I for one would appreciate it if you would quit taking every opportunity to alienate the non-FoS membership. I'm not going to make value judgments one way or another with regards to some of the butthurt attitudes amongst some of our neighbors, but it's bad form to walk into someone's domicile and piss on the walls just to say you're here. Enough with the drama already...I get enough of that shit from my teenagers and
I'm not interested in dealing with it here.

Well it wasn't dramatic.

The only way we're ever populating these other subforums is by posting things there. Things getting drowned in the sea of posts here is not conducive to the growth of this site.

Putting a giant banner up isn't dramatic? Please, Alex...gimme a break.

But I totally agree with this; germane content needs to discussed in appropriate threads. Hell, that's why I went through setting up the Brewery with cubbies for everything, knowing that you intended to do the same in the open forum. But again, not everything belongs in a new thread somewhere, like that UW list. Yes, it could go in the States thread, but why tell everyone to jump over there just so we can say "that ain't so hot"? This
isn't black and white...shades of gray, man.

I would find a breakdown of decks that did well at States pretty interesting, personally. I just couldn't figure out how to split the posts into a new topic within the mod panel.

I think you're the one being a little dramatic here, Jerry. Nobody else took issue because it isn't really that important to most people, and is only a minor inconvenience. The outcome is growth for the site for those of us who care about that, which is actually just good for everyone, in or out of the clan.

If we were as big as MTGS I probably wouldn't give a shit whatsoever because the forums would populate themselves, but unless we put some effort into getting to that point we're just going to continue to be a couple dozen dudes on the internet intelectually circlejerking one another.
